I'm all for the different modes, I like the descriptions; though I do still think it'd be really nice if the harder modes also had enhanced enemy AI and/or randomized spawn locations.

I was checking out the bestiary for the game because we had the guide at work and there's like only 2 actually new enemies.
dunno if this is new to anybody, but gonna post what I remember anyways!
Also don't know if the bestiary I saw represented the full list of enemies.

They got rid of the white crawling creature thing that changes dead bodies into Necromorphs no replacement creature that I saw.
Regenerating Necromorph is back
the black versions of the original Necros are back
The small ranged necros who could climb up on walls with the three tentacles and shoot at you are made from animals (they were only babies in 1, right?)
The speedy swarmy melee children Necros from 2 are now adults instead of children, which makes sense I guess since there wouldn't be children there.
They got rid of the Brute/Tank type necros from 1 and two, but replaced them with a similar Necromorph, except it was made from the corpse of an alien species (which I guess means there is a non-human race aside from the Necromorphs making an appearance in 3.
The little babies with the exploding yellow sacs are gone, but they have been replaced with a very similar design, except now they are made from an alien creature
The superquick necros with the malfunctioning stasis are back
as are the raptor things from 2
everything else from 1 & 2 returned (except my first mention)
Apparently the only three new enemies I saw are a type of enemy that floats around in 0G space, the humans, and necros who use guns.
there were 3 bosstype monsters I saw listed in the bestiary. The boss from the demo, the giant Hive Mind, and some super tentacle thingy.

Turned on Dead Space 2 to play some more of it to see if I wanted to play more (Dead Space 3). Started up a new game and noticed I had Severance, which I don't remember buying or playing, which I apparently did, because I have access to it and have the trophy for clearing it. So I decided just to play through that again and I still don't remember anything about it lol
Trying to go through it without using any of the stuff I've unlocked in previous playthroughs to make it more challenging, but man, knowing the fingerbang gun is just sitting in my safe unused is killing me.

edit; okay, I remember trying to throw enemies into the grinder for the trophy.

I think replaying Severance has made me decide to buy 3, despite all my misgivings about 3 being the changes that occurred between 2 and 3.
Oh, and another enemy I don't recall seeing in the DS3 bestiary is the small tentacle creatures that Voltron up into the blue whale sounding thing.
They had the head tentacle thing from the demo, but that is apparently a whole other enemy that has somewhat taken the place of the white creatures that change dead bodies into necros.
