After just finishing the game and it's not the best, but not the worst either. I feel it's the weakest of the series mostly because of the changes they made to the AI. In all that was my biggest problem, some enemies are insane smart and will use flanking mechanics and cover expertly. Then you have the more common enemies that bull charge without a care in the world and just use numbers to makes life hard (those fucking emaciated people things). Then there's the human enemies that stand out in the open firing rounds waiting for the sweet bliss of death.
Granted most of the enemies in the first games where not solving complex math, but I do remember them at least able to work out how to use the air vents to properly flank. I also found points where I could leash them all day and just take out one at a time without fear.Overall I did greatly enjoy the game, but that was mostly when it played exactly like the first games.
Just fought the boss that was featured in the demo. Is there actually a way to avoid getting hit by it when it charges at you? The only thing I could seem to do was to stasis it at the right range and then run out of the way, but that barely worked at all and I just ended up eating a lot of health packs.
And you know what's really annoying me? The rate at which enemies corpses disappear. It seems if there's more than 3 enemies on the screen, dead or alive, the dead ones start despawning. Especially annoying when I hadn't stomped on them yet to smoosh out their item.
If you're using a controller, double-tap the run button while holding a direction and you'll do a dodge roll.
Only thing that really irks me so far is the day 1 DLC, only one of them adds something to the game(scavenger bot voices) but I would question if it's 'fun' or just dumb for $5, everything else they have is just paying for easymode.
Didn't help much against it. Doesn't seem to help much against anything.
I'm not sure why they put in a roll and a duck. Seems like just a waste of time putting those in.
and fyi, if your bullets have stasis on them, it counts towards the Killing 50 enemies while their in stasis trophy.
Mine just dinged when I was one-shotting those grey swarming melee guys.
Chapter 11 spoiler
Spoiler: show
Jesus Christ how do you deal with a swarm of black Super Necromorphs?
Doing a side mission in 14 and three different times now I run into separate encounters and keep getting overwhelmed by Super Pickaxe dudes, Super Twitchers (speedhax dudes), and exploding dudes.
I've got my plasma cutter on max damage, Statis as max duration and charges, yet now here I stand with 0 stasis and health items and I doubt I'm even that far in.
I'm I just goingf to have to keep running for a previous door every time I spawn an encounter so I can just cheese my way through?
I've platinumed DS1 and 2, yet this game is giving me problems on Normal.
Must be the Disposal OM. I couldn't use my PC/Magnum for shit in there unless I really needed to hop to it. Shotgun w/ Stasis Coating was a godsend in there.
If you're going for the PC achievement... Well, that sucks.
Yeah, it was Disposal. I just cleared it. Had to make a shotgun/rocket launcher with stasis coating and blast shielding. Ended up shooting rockets right near my feet quite a few times.
I'll definitely be avoiding all OM on my Hardcore run.
Pretty much done with the game.
If there's one gimmick that has been overdone in the series and really needs to go by now, it's regenerating slashers.
So should I be buying this or no?

EA pulling the same thing with Dead Space as they did with Darksiders. $300M made from the game or they're pulling the plug on the franchise.
I think I remember this part. I wish I could remember the weapon setups I used. I made quite a few custom weapons that were pretty effective.
All I can suggest is stasis coat or flame gaze attachments are your friend. I played most of the Tau Volantis portion of the game using a weapon with each.
Ahh I think I was using heavy elite frame with military engine on top and alloy shooter piece with repeater on bottom with flame gaze. The second weapon I used was a line gun compressor attachment on top and military engine on bottom with stasis coat.
Then when those bloody buggers come shoot for knee caps. Try to get a leg and arm off ASAP.
Edit: Just saw you beat it :D.. man I love this game I really enjoyed it. Just missing that creep factor with no Nicole stalking you. Still need to replay doing co-op only beat the game on solo so far.
I've been having a ton of success with Force Gun lower tool with Stasis Coating to knock things down and Military Engine with a Directed Ejection Field tip to saw off limbs when they're down, FG isn't very damaging but it fires much faster and has a much larger clip than the shotgun. Crank up FG damage and reload time with chips, been doing well for me.
Also I realized that you can share blueprints for DLC weapons it seems? So I think if someone has one you don't they can just share the blueprint and you can make it out of resources.
Anyone beat it on Classic yet? Halfway through it but dreading the swarms of black bastards past ch14. Evangelizer has made everything stupidly easy so far but I'd like a good alternative.
Any one getting this for PC? I'd like to play this, but I don't want to settle for a console, and I don't know any one else on PC who'd pay 60 to do this things.
This is BG, if people get a chance to post something against EA they will. Also yes, Darksiders had nothing to do with EA
