Nah, that was an honest mistake. I hate EA, but I don't make a habit of blaming everything on them when I know better.

Pretty anticlimactic end boss fight. Barely a challenge with souped up kenisis.
Starting up Classic now.
Hit 100% collectibles today. I think ranking for the series, for me personally, is 2>3>1. Kinda similar to Ass Creed actually. The first is by no means bad, but it was annoyingly limited in scope, and didn't really reach it's potential. I loved 2, the varying locales, the atypical ones, the hallucinations, and so on, felt like it really improved on a lot of what I didn't like in the first one. Three tried some new things, some worked, like the weapon system which I fucking loved, others didn't work so well, and while the game may have had more 'content' a lot of the locales were re-used and samey. Because of things like the weapons, and the fun co-op, I personally enjoyed it more than 1, but it felt like it didn't reach the level of DS2. Just my opinion, take it or leave it. Also fuck mountain climbing.
I too noticed the rampant map recycling, but I think 3 has done way more right than wrong. Co-op is fun as hell with a friend, weapon crafting is exceptionally deep, complaints about story are pretty subjective so that's not really worth getting into.
I look forward to the Impossible run after we finish the co-op campaign.
This game is so much better when you skip the optional missions.
On chapter 9 on Classic. Not sure If I even want to attempt Hardcore mode... Even though I've already played through the game once, I've managed to die a ton in Classic.
The Retro Filter looks awesome though. Really don't think it's a good enough reward for beating Hardcore mode...
Any takers on getting this for master race so I can coop? =(
Where/when the hell do I get to cash in all these ration seals?
Enjoying the game so far but jesus grown men going dudebro hands off my babe brah. Absolutely god awful. Do they really think that will pull in a new audience? I mean I can understand a commercial, co-op, more shoot bang...but to dumb down your dialogue THAT much? If anything the casuals won't give a shit about the story anyways, and you'll just lose people with better taste. Also full auto javelin sprayer plus standard force gun w/ stasis module. I'd call it unfair if the game didn't throw enemies at you at 180 degree angles constantly.
Well so many people whined and cried about day one DLC and microtransactions, which you dont even need to purchase in the first place.. I thought it was pretty awesome they added an alternate way to get some boosts in materials that didnt include spending real money on it.
On a personal note, I havent had much time with the game but I am really enjoying it, this is easily my favorite franchise, only on chapter 7 but fun so far.
It was nice for sure, they just didn't really go out of their way to explain it. Xbox fren of mine had well over 100 when I told him how to use them.
Yeah I have like 120 lol
Have to agree there, they didnt explain it at all. Fun fact tho if you purchase those packs on one playthrough it carries over to others, found out via my singleplayer save and co-op save. I had some msp points sitting there forever so I got one pack and it carried over, unsure if true if purchased with ration seals.
I was typing out how it doesn't carry over from the regular mode to Classic mode, but then I remembered I'm actually locked out of the crafting weapons part of the Bench, so those extra parts could still be there, I just can't access them lol.
And yeah, the only reason I knew about the ration seals was because it was explained on the Giantbomb Quicklook.
Everything carries to Weapon Arena too, even your scavenger bit timers still tick away in there and they come back with hauls lol
Classic Mode Chapter 12 bro tip...
Spoiler: show
Ikarys and I finished our first co-op playthrough, had a blast. Really interested in the various NG+ modes, can you do co-op in Pure Survival?
Also hardcore sounds like a breeze...outside of rappelling/flying parts lol, the only other thing that makes me nervous is the human enemies with rocket launchers, though I got pretty decent at catching the rockets with TK and throwing them back.
Favorite weapons at the end of the game: Just made tweaks to the two pre-order guns, replaced the Evangilizer shotgun with a force gun with stasis coating, and replaced the Negotiator line gun with a rivet chain gun, flame glaze, stasis amplifier. Had most of the bases covered, the stasis-coated force gun is honestly kind of broken, just aim low and nothing can get near you, then pick off limbs when you knock them down, or throw out a stasis shot if you need to reload. Negotiator setup was more for ranged encounters, the charged tesla shot can one-shot most everything, chain gun was great for humans or smaller enemies.
Yeah, the only mode you can't do bro-op on is Classic.
imo Pure Survival is what should be the 'Hardcore' modes in these games. That mode with L4D-style randomized spawns would be the perfect survival horror game.
