    Twinks and twinking...

I was thinking of maybe coming back but not to raid or do endgame stuff but to have fun pvping in the lower brackets. I was wondering if anyone else has a twink they play and pvp with on a regular basis and wanted to just have some discussion about it.

Back in BC days I made a twink hunter with about a 100g investment at the time and some decent quested items and it was a lot of fun and was thinking of making another one.

Anyone else thinking about making one or are currently playing one?

At least in my battlegroup it sucked cause no one played in them at all pretty much. Queues were like 30+ mins and it got boring pretty fast. There were more people around 49+ though. Could be a diff story in your bg tho.

Twinking and remaining 1 lvl the entire time doesn't work so well due to queues. However, you can get to a new lvl, turn exp off and go run a few instances for gear, then turn exp back on to do BGs through the bracket, and you'll get decent queues and it's kinda fun. Some brackets may be more or less fun based on your class for that range, and you'll eventually either get too high or hit lvl cap, but it takes a while and is enjoyable!

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Best bet now is to research via the forums to find an active group that sets up times with with groups to queue. Otherwise you're stuck doing insanely long queues.

two things though 1. if you have a high level and can get heirloom gear, transfer them to w/e server you're going to for your twink. Most twinks will rape you even in the good low lvl gear if they have BoA and you don't. 2. as failure said, it's easy to get the rest of the pieces now because you can lock your lvl and like spam WC until you get all the shit you need.

This isn't entirely true. BoAs are better at some lvls (<34), at others you'll only use 1 BoA or something, this is largely due to the fact that 35+ ilvl items can take TBC enchants and whatnot (Mongoose hi) which can blow the stats of BoAs out of the water. Then again, if you aren't going all out twinking with enchants/etc, BoAs are definitely solid/good all the way up.

    unless I'm mistaken you can still enchant BoA's with low lvl stuff, it just won't be active if you aren't at the right level. So you could still put like...crusader? (I forget if that has a low cap, been awhile) and it'll work as long as you stick in the 10 bracket (or however high until it wears off...40?) I'm too lazy to look it up lol. @.@;

You can enchant BoA gear as long as your the correct level for said enchant, but doing that makes them bound to the character

Ok I had to look this up 'cause some things didn't sound right and didn't want to just keep doing the "from what I remember" game.

    According to WoW wiki:

    http://www.wowwiki.com/Heirloom

"Heirlooms can be enchanted only with enhancements that will not bind the item to the character. The items are treated as item level 1, and so most Burning Crusade or higher enhancements cannot be applied to them. Death Knight runes became applicable to heirlooms in 4.0.1. Enhancements that require a base character level to use, such as Zandalar Signets, will become active only when the character has reached that required level."

So it shouldn't make them bound to the character, 'cause those enchants won't work.

but ya it's only good if you're doing pre BC levels since they have to be lvl 1 enchants.

Then I'm obviously wrong. Could sworn I read that somewhere though. May have been an original idea that they went back on later

Crusader doesn't bind to account, it can be used on a level 1 item

That's not entirely true, you can put Aldor/Scryer TBC enchants on the BoA shoulders, the enchant just only functions once you are lvl 70 on the character (I currently have a 72 rogue that's been semi twinked and BGed most the way up). These enchants do bind to the characters.

Anyway, you can enchant all BoAs with non-ilvl restricted (note this is different than non-lvl restricted...aka if an enchantment says "requires lvl 70 to use", you can use it, but the enchant will only work when the character wearing the BoA is 70+, however, if it says requires a lvl 35+ item, it won't work on BoAs. Anyway, the cutoff point for TBC enchants is ilvl 35 gear, which becomes available between lvl 31 and 35 roughly. All gear in the 35-39 bracket and higher works with TBC enchants, which includes Mongoose. Thus, as I said, around lvl 35, BoAs start becoming significantly worse, let me just give an example:

BoA Stained Shadowcraft Tunic @ lvl 40:
    194 Armor
    +13 Agility
    +20 Stamina
    Requires level 1 to 80 (40)
    Item Level 1
Equip: Increases your hit rating by 13 (2.25% @ L40).
    Enchant: +4 all stats.

    Cadaverous Armor
    194 Armor
    +14 Agility
    +14 Stamina
    Durability 135 / 135
    Requires Level 40
    Item Level 45
Equip: Increases your critical strike rating by 14 (1.63% @ L40).
    +6 all stats.

I'm actually a bit surprised by this comparison, I just knew a friend opted for this piece in particular, is why I mentioned it, but basically the Cadaverous Armor is -7 sta, +1 rating (and crit > hit), +1 agi before enchant, after enchant it becomes -5sta, +3agi, +1 rating, +2ap.

Maybe not the best example as +2 all stats isn't huge, but Mongoose is amazing once you can get ilvl 35+ weapons.
