He is definitely better than Freeman now, but like Tyche said Freeman could be better down the line. His physical ability is a distinct advantage he holds over almost every other QB in the NFL.

Ryan was third this week with a 92.0, Freeman 15th with a 48.4

Ryan on the season is 14th with a 58.5, Freeman 16th with a 54.0

Total QBR is a quarterback rating that takes into account all of a quarterback's contributions (passing, rushing, sacks, fumbles, penalties) to his team's scoring and winning and summarizes them into one number on a 0-100 scale, on which 50 is average.

For a season, a Total QBR of 65 or better is roughly Pro Bowl level and a rating of 75+ is MVP level. For more about the methodology and statistics behind Total QBR, see here.

Different positions have nothing to do with it. No one is comparing a te stats to qb stats

and I'd like to voice that I was one of the earlier people who jumped off of the Matt Ryan bandwagon :3 Not to say he's bad, or even average.. he's an above average QB that manages the game properly and gets his team in game-winning situations unless his defense blows up on itself, which it typically does.

and the Total QBR bullshit is just so.. retarded. It'd be nearly impossible for any of us to sit down and figure out who's got what, just like the regular QB rating.

It's a shame the Falcons D is terrible. They're 2-2 because of that and it's making Matty Ice look worse than he actually is. I'd say he's a Top 10 QB, though.

I think Matt Ryan is a pretty good QB, but elite I would generally reserve for the top 10-20%, and I think he falls outside of the top 6 right now.
