Anyone know where to get new crafting mats? I wanna get some GLA shit made. :D
New crafting mats, like cobalt and such? The revised recipe list on the lodestone that was posted last week had the mining locations for cobalt ore, iirc.
oh? Nice I'll check that.
I haz bird now! XD
Bah...5 logins, 5 crashes in a row. Also, no matter what I do, my UI resets to some random configuration...
Edit: Nevermind, managed to google it and find the BG Thread with my answer
It appears the effect of GA is now the same as the completion time bonus.
Just did 2 R40 leves 1-star at lvl 39, one with GA and no time bonus, one without GA with time bonus, 4590 at the end for both.
Edit: wait, nvm they mentioned a cap on reward exp, that's probably it for my lvl.
Hurry with your vid, Kuro. I want to see it from your perspective.
Anyone have mobs randomly returning to their territory during leves? Quite annoying, happens even if I pull them only a bit.
Also getting a ton of "X cannot be used right now" ._.;
It definitely doesn't flow well because of the inherent UI/Server lag. They made something that wasn't smooth before and they made it a bit worse.
The game still feels a little meh to me on a few levels. I lost a ton of HP and MP from the adjusting. I lost almost half of my HP, which sucks. Also, I feel like combat is considerably slower now and much more turn based (or like FFXI). I was hoping for something more flowing and continuous but at level 19, it's not.![]()
i wonder how the new auto attack animation are.
anyone got a video or plan to do one, beside kuro?
Lol, I'm 'Mr. Negative' so I might not be the best barometer. While I think the game has come a long way, it still feels clunky to me.
I have to concur exactly with this. There's definitely a lot more to do in the game now, but with the change to action queuing it does indeed make combat considerably clunkier. The company quest vs the Earth Golem and the 3 Spriggans killed me about 4 times as a Gladiator 25 simply because actions simply weren't firing half the time. It was only thanks to an offer of help from a GLA50 nearby that I was able to get it done.
I devoted a big chunk of time to FFXIV yesterday, and for me the content is still inherently unbalanced. Nothing scales. You can join the chocobo caravan quests solo, for example, but if no one else joins up then you get your ass handed to you by 3 groups of 10 mobs all swarming the caravan. I was so shocked when this happened that I screenshotted it and just sat there in amazement. For every thing SE did right with this patch, little things still completely frustrate me about their system.
The "kill 10 cactuar" guildleve at Camp Horizon is a great example of this. Now that they only use 100 Needles, picking off individual cactuar is a reasonable process. And then the last three spawn at once, as a linked group, and destroy you -- you don't get any breathing room to rest/heal up, and needle shots will kill you as you try and run out of their territory. It is basically guaranteeing at least one death for that leve. Maybe it's just me being a crappy Gladiator...
So yeah, FFXIV is now a reasonable game for a Free2Play model for someone like me who is nowhere near the level cap.
(As an aside, the most fun I've had ingame since it launched is pulling packs of closely-spawning mobs in the new dungeon in La Noscea and AoEing them down with Circle Slash, Leg Sweep, etc. Much better XP than fighting mobs my own level -- which is also a balance issue I feel! Also, pulling several mobs is a pain in the butt thanks to the targeting/lock system.)
They seem to have changed a dramatic amount of stuff this patch. Is the game worth playing now?
