[dev1162] The condition whereby gathering for extended periods of time reduces the rate of item yield has been alleviated.

I'm assuming that this is regarding the gathering fatigue. As much as I want it to mean that it's completely gone, I'm going to guess that it means it will take longer for it to come into effect?

Also, I can't be the only one happy that damaging a monster before you claim it and getting less SP as a result is fixed.

I'm glad that's getting fixed as well. Also the d/c issue will be a lot less retarded after the patch.

Yeah. The game will definitely be a lot more enjoyable after Tuesdays patch. A lot of resolutions to old issues that have been cockblocking progress.

They still got a lot of work to do though. UI Overhaul, Party search/recruitment overhaul, Server optimization, Graphics optimization, etc etc <--- these are all OLD OLD problems that need to be address.

And the most important and fundamental as well (the last two) lol

They can work on it all they want as long as the end result is satisfying really.

Btw. TheGerman patch notes state AM is now instant cast. So let's see which one is right.

Yeah for as much as they've put out, they still only considered themselves 50% done, which seems about right for what is still left.

30% is more like it imo. Jumping, AH, zones, server, UI, engine remain. Plus maybe 4 raids, action overhaul and job system...

Well maybe that's according to their internal schedule. All of these are well into development at this stage, but not for us to see yet..

Not even sure how you managed to throw jumping in a list of that importance.

    Edit: wait, trolled

Well not really importance but I think it's more work than you'd think, especially with the way the game functions. But that's a guess.

I'd rather have them develop something else but then again, rather have them develop something.

It seems like perhaps the content in this patch might buy them some time to work on the boring stuff like UI.

At least they added more "end game" stuff this time than just one thing. Ifrit battle probably won't last very long though; guaranteed it holds our attention for less than than Darkhold. The "rare" chests in beastmen strongholds might keep us busy depending on variety of gear and rarity of the keys needed. Other than that, the timesink in this patch seems to be materia and it will causes 5% of us to ragequit anyway.

Looks good overall. I can't get excited for patch notes anymore. They always read better than they play..

Not to mention Figaro will probably be a pain in the ass to log into the first night and no one will get to play for 24-48h anyway. Our server is packed.

Stuff might've changed, but Yoshida's table for 1.20 doesn't really have much content beside new Primal Battle afair, so this patch needs to keep people busy for some time.

These patches need to fix the game, not keep people busy....not like its gonna be similar to January-July even in the worst case.

Materia system really should give these people a ton of stuff to work on though.

I'm guessing we gonna see some real endgame with 1.21 and job introduction, they probably holding out with alot of new items/gear for that

Here's the (potential) problem I have with that, as others here have voiced as well: I actually think it was a *good thing* that a daily allotment of gathering only took about 60-90 minutes to complete. *IF* you can gather more now, and they don't actually *increase* how many goods are allowed to come in to circulation per day, it will now actually take longer to accomplish the exact same thing.

We'll have to wait and see, but simply abolishing gathering fatigue is not necessarily a Good Thing.

Weren't the glitchy/unpolished battle animations supposed to be addressed in 1.19?

My guess on this change was because they figure enough materials will be removed when equipment is lost turning it into materia that it would balance it.

    Blah blah blah, excited, blah.

"An issue wherein chat log messages containing both Roman and Japanese characters would result in awkward linebreaks in the text." <= burst out laughing at this.
