In 2002 (maybe 2003)? I dropped $20 for a subscription to Nintendo Power just because they sent you a gift for ordering. The gift was a Gamecube disc that had Legend of Zelda, Legend of Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and a Wind Waker demo. I've seen that disc for sale in GameStops in the last couple of years for like sixty bucks.

Everything before those were fun but not amaze-balls.

I haven't played a single one after OoT. I don't own a Wii and don't play on buying one. Also don't have a DS or anything.
    Here you go and this.

As long as your pc isn't a piece of a shit, both will run capped fps. Ds games shouldn't be bad with a mouse, and i'm not completely sure how the motion controls were used on wii TP, but you can always just play the GC version if they give you trouble with a controller.

Thanks, I'm honestly not interested in playing them though. I've farted around with one of the Wii ones at a friend's house and was really underwhelmed.

It's like my relationship with the FF series. I'll play anything up to IX but nothing after.

Looks like I'm not the only one on a Zelda kick this past week. Reserved my Skyward Sword bundle the other day.

    So lets see.

LttP was my first experience with the genre. I never had the NES games, and I never owned an SNES but my best friend growing up around the corner had one. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the whole neighborhood of kids in my friend's mother's bedroom(lol) playong LttP on her bigass TV. We didn't have a guide or anything iirc, was just like 10 of us trying to solve puzzles and figure out where to go. I was terrible actually playing this game, but I loved it just the same.

OOT sealed the deal for me for the series as a whole. It was my first experience playing a Zelda game solo, and it was completely mind blowing when it came out. Hell, even now the story is great and its a joy to play. Just like with LttP it was even fun to go explore, talk to random people. I'd never had that kind of seemingly open world experience in a game before.

The only other Zelda title I played through is also my absolute favorite of the series, and that happens to be Wind Waker. I adored this title in every way, from the art style and colors, to the quirky people you meet along the way. But for me the first time I got into the boat and started sailing around.. I dunno, that just had me. I loved the idea of sailing across the ocean and exploring, going on side quests and hunting for treasure. The story was my absolute favorite among the titles I've played, and the idea that it takes a direct link to OOT brought back a lot of nostalgia. Going to get the master sword in the palace (Which had a slow remix of LttP's palace music <3 ), and seeing the beautiful window panels of the seven sages from OOT, I couldn't help but to smile.

I have Twilight Princess but I'm ashamed to say I haven't played it all the way through yet. I'm not sure how far I'd gotten, its been probably a year or so since I was last messing with it, but I really was enjoying myself with it before I got side tracked. I don't think anything will top Wind Waker for my top slot, but its likely going to come in second once I finish it up.

So that's more or less my list.

OoT was my first and I loved almost every minute of it, and it got me into the rest and I can still replay it anytime, but Awakening is almost the winner, Oracles game coming in next after that...

Yup, did the same exact thing myself. I don't think I'll ever part with it though.

I have that disc somewhere as well. There was also one for preordering Wind Waker that was just Ocarina of Time--both the normal version and the Master Quest. I have that one too, and will never give them up.

I'm thinking about trying to find Oracle of Ages and, finally, finish it. It is the one Zelda game I own and never finished. I recently sat down at a friends house and played a Link to the Past. Made it to the second dungeon in the Dark World in one sitting.

Yes it was. It seriously messed with my head after knowing the dungeons like the back of my hand to have them changed so much.

I loved all of them. Played the first one when I was like five watching my father play it. I love the stories and the gameplay of every one I've played. The one that sticks out to me the most because I found it so freaking hard when I was little and even a couple of years ago was Adventures of Link. I still haven't beaten it and I think I might give it another whirl this weekend. The temple music has always stuck with me and when I finally beat a temple boss for the first time I was overjoyed and jumping.

LttP, Link's Awakening, then OoT or Oracle. I still replay LttP sometimes, blah blah, most of the reasons for the love have been done to death in the thread already, so I'm just gonna go with "most of the reasons already stated".

A Link to the Past is the only correct answer.

Nothing will ever replace the memory of stepping into the Dark World for the very first time as the most epic moment for me in a Zelda game. Yeah yeah the theme has already been posted but it's just that godlike, it's the very definition of "shit just got real." Twilight Princess followed by Ocarina of Time would come next for me.

LOL! I just replayed this game like a month ago. It is by far the hardest fucking Zelda game in the franchise, no other will make you rage as hard. Niggas all talking about Majora's Mask is hard and what not, pfft whatever. Zelda II will push your shit in over and over while Ganon's .midi laugh encourages you to curb-stomp babies.

I haven't finished a Zelda game since OOT. I remember getting Majora's Mask for my birthday, but deciding to let my dad finish it before I got into it. He's monopolized every Zelda game since.

A link to the past was my favorite. Ocarina was awesome, as was master's quest (harder version of OOT). Windwaker and twilight princess, while fun, were forgettable. I'll never forget A link to the past.

I honestly haven't beaten Zelda II without a Game Genie. I tried again a few years back (GCN disc, my NES copy is unreliable for saving) and still couldn't get past the third dungeon or so. The one in the middle of Mido swamp.

    Spoiler: show
I giggled with glee when I was playing it and realized all the villages were named for the sages from OoT.

I hate when I go back to an old 80s/90s game like Zelda II, thinking "I'm now older, wiser, more skilled, have more patience, etc. I can take this game on that used to give me trouble as a kid." An hour later, I'm throwing the controller.

I find myself in this same scenario far more frequently than I'd like to admit to.
