    It's really not even just fast food. The only fast food I eat is pizza so I don't share your pain on that front. When I did, I just gave up getting orders right. Face it, these are 15-18 year old kids making the food that don't give a crap. Restaurants get me though. It's when I'm paying $15 for a steak that I order medium rare and it comes out medium well. I return it, and the next comes out still mooing. It's ordering $18 salmon and you get a piece of fish you could eat in 2 bites and the shit is burned. And when you question the server they look at you like you are nuts.

    I love a good hamburger. I have a friend that will go drop $7 at wendys on a combo. I could spend the same amount for a pound of ground chuck from the meat market, loaf of bread or buns, 12 slice cheese pack, any veggie practically, and still buy a soda.

    I personally avoided working fast food when younger because I knew that, come burger #349 at rush time, I would fuck up something. And from what I've seen of a lot of stores around here, they're still largely using little old monitors with black screens and flickering small, green text that's hard to read and probably flashing by as other people work on various orders. You'll probably than have a lazy boss breathing down your neck about picking up the pace without them ever deciding to maybe hop on the grill and help out, too. In effect, I can realize it can be a shit job with shit conditions and people who blow things way out of proportion don't help. Yeah, I'll check my bag when I'm in the drive-thru, but if I find something missing, I just park my car, walk in, wait in line if there is one, then put my bag on the counter and explain I'm missing such and such. No drama, just an understanding that shit happens and blowing up at some little old lady working cashier certainly won't get it to me faster. Realistically, if I wanted to be a cunt, I could probably leave a burger or two in my car and rip whomever off whenever since it's rare they question me.

    While the old motto might be the customer's always right, deep down we know that's not always true. Especially when they start going above and beyond to disrupt the natural flow of service.

    I have worked all forms of fast food there is, from burgers to tacos and all the way back to fish. They were all really bad. The employes do not care what you eat, they will feed you anything. Specific examples? Sure.
    I worked at a taco place where we would actually cook raw meat in a big pressure cooker type thing. We just used water, onions, and a packet of seasoning. So many times the meat did not get all the way up to temp, like 165 I think, because we didn't have a thermometer in the damn place, everything would get to 'unsafe' temps all day. Were we kept all the cold stuff like lettuce and cheese was a basically an open fridge we put pans in. But the drain on the thing was stopped up so we would turn it off half way through the day to thaw it and clean it, during that time the food would get to 80~.
    Once and employee put 2 packets of seasoning in the meat, it was so salty some guy puked after eating a taco, my boss refused his refund saying he was just 'sensitive' and then went back, cooked more meat, and added it to the overly seasoned stuff to thin it out. The same boss would water down food, like queso, sell stuff that's a day or 2 old, add grease to dried chicken, refused to let us change the fryer, and fed the the fucking colony of stray cats outside. Nothing like going outside for a smoke and hearing two cats fucking in the dumpster.

    I used to work at a KFC when I was a minor. That particular store had an old Italian guy as the store manager, and he hired people out on work release from the city prison, as well as ex-cons that were trying to reinstate themselves as normal citizens. One of the ex-con cooks once deep-fried a dead mouse he found in the kitchen and sold it through the drive thru. Another ex-con was tasked with mixing up big vats of butter, cole slaw, and various other things, and he regularly pissed in the butter vat while mixing it up. Not surprisingly, the same ex-con HATED the Italian guy and put degreaser in the guy's Hi-C, sent him to the hospital. Fucked up times...

    i knew BG would never be complete without a fast food complaint thread. its 2011 people, a bunch of foreigners are working the counter, you cannot go in there and buy your heart attack in a box and seriously expect the correct meal these days. half those fucking wets dont even speak english and you expect them to know not to put onions or ketchup on your 1 dollar hamburger? get over yourself.

    Back to your original arguement stating a $15 dollar steak is the equivilant to a $2 burger. A $15 steak can be Filet, Ribeye, or New York Strip. But you are saying that's cheap and crap right? I get NY Strip for $3.50/lb at my meat market when on sale but I bet that's shit too right?

    Maybe in Wally-world where the quality of the meat/bread is shit, I could never buy all that for $7. Pound of chuck, $3-4 dollars, cheese around $2, bread is easily $2-$3, and a 2 litre of soda? ONE DOLLAR AND FIFTY MUTHA FUGGIN CENTS!

    $14.50 easily. And don't get me started on steak, maybe I'm just spoiled but I'd never eat a steak at a restaurant that cost less then $20 dollars for the entree it comes with, unless it says specifically that I'm getting like 4-6oz of the smallest piece of meat I could ever get; fast food is the exception to this and we already know you're getting what you pay for. I'd be royally pissed if I got some cheap knock-off steak that they're trying to pass for Rib-Eye or Sirloin for 8 dollars.

    edit: I'm talking restuarant though, if we're talking buying a piece of meat, my rib-eyes are usually like 10/pound, sirloin probably around the same. Still though, for a decent size steak that will fill me up, I'm looking at $12-$15 not including everything else that goes with the meal.
