Hey, wheres that stat about november placement defining playoff potential? Where does "defending stanley cup champion in LAST PLACE in the east" factor into that statistic?

I think such a cut off time should be referenced by placement after X games played, not by a time frame. Some teams (Pittsburgh) have played 11 games, and some teams are only at 7 games played. a 4 game difference is a potential 8 points difference.

Expanding on this, Howard is looking to get as many starts as possible, since Conklin is looking like crap. Although the Wings have a lot of B2Bs coming up so that might limit his starts somewhat.
