Honestly, I really hope we don't have a resurgence like NJ or Calgary because we need to trade first overalls. Nash doesn't really do shit anymore and should be shipped out for defensive help. Drop salary while you can and get Yakupov, turn the team over so the loser attitude is out of the city. Arniel is a part of the problem as well, as his system seems to rely on getting lucky bounces for rebounds on low quality shots. We routinely outshoot but rarely get any quality chances. It's like he repeated the mantra "simplify the game" so many times that the team managed to regress.

His lines and deciding when to use them also rarely make sense. He doesn't use the best PK guys on the team, pointing to players like the Sedins who are PP only, but it seems to have gone over his head that the Sedins aren't very good defensively while Nash and Carter can be when they feel like it. This Coach is something like 5-25-5 in the last 35 games.

Agreed, I honestly think Columbus was going to be one of the teams that really made a push to trade for Ginger Jesus with the Canucks. Only problem is I don't see what the hell we would possibly want from Columbus. Maybe a first round pick I guess.

I am not sold on Cory Schneider at all. His most rigorous season had him playing 20 - 25 games if I'm not mistaken. That's hardly a large enough sampling to risk moving a proven commodity. If you really examine the Jackets roster they don't have that much going for them. Nash, Carter, Calvert, Moore, and Johansen are essentially untouchable. Aside from those three they don't have a ton of bargaining chips left.

Kristian Huselius - This season excluded he's pretty durable, good for 15 - 20 goals a year and fills a top six role. The Canucks are not in dire need of offense.

Derick Brassard - He's showing a lot of upside now coming off a career year, but I'm not sure that Columbus would be willing to move him.

Kris Russell - I think Columbus may be close to pulling the plug on Russell being the top four offensive defenseman they thought he would be. This move would make sense since it's becoming fairly obvious that Russell isn't going to live up to the potential in Columbus. A change of scenery could benefit him.

Fedor Tyutin - This is the move that would make the most sense. Tyutin is an absolute minutes eater. He's got offensive upside and is responsible defensively. Vancouver's blue line took a hit losing Ehrhoff despite what Vancouver fans think. Tyutin would yield a good return, possibly Schneider type returns.

We can't trade Tyutin. If we trade him for a goalie, the goalie's doomed to fail behind that defense anyway.

The most sensible thing to do is to trade Nash to signify the beginning of a new era, wipe the slate clean, and start from the ground up. These guys aren't going to get their shit together in time to make the playoffs, so why keep betting on a group that's gotten there once in eleven years?
