Lol, Peds you should feel bad for letting Penner get a point against you.

2 points!
Penner has single handedly tripled his season points in one game.
And by break out the champagne, I mean get this man a Polish Dog.
honestly, I feel bad for him at times, there are games where he looks lost as all hell but other games where he actually plays really well, getting involved offensively but still doesn't show up on the score sheet. Dude is seriously snake bitten at the moment. I know he can score 30 goals a year but all I wanted was 20-25, lol.
5-1 Florida. The leafs were ready to play, 39 shots on, Kessel scored, lots of chances from MGK. But four laffer goals sunk them. Gus got yanked after letting in 2 softies within 19 seconds. Ben Scrivens made the Leafs' highlight saves, but added two rookie mistakes - lost track of his rebound and caught cheating on a pass - going 7/9 stopped.
All of the theories, hypotheses, and musings of playoff leafs hockey have James Reimer as the thesis statement. As long as he's injured, the Leafs have some problems in net (and that's not to say Reimer can do better, as he's technically a "rookie" himself).
Expect the team to look confused in St. Louis as it plays a speedy run-and-gun offence while trying to compensate for weak goaltending. November could get real ugly, but at least we have a game or two still left to lose before we get into point trouble. FIX IT NAO
Nah, I don't want to be a Bluefan, but the calls have been kinda bad this game.
Interesting last minute of game here.
Sweet, lets see now if we blow this and give up a point.
Yay 2 point game. Grats Jorn.
Wow they really could've tied that.
A win feels good, but really hope we can keep it going vs the Canucks Thursday.
That's unfair, they don't have Connolly, Reimer, Armstrong... really I did say the whole season hinged on Reimer in net. That was supposed to be a given, but some fucknut slumping hab knocked him out. We've had average-poor goaltending since. The best Gustavsson can do is not lose, he rarely steals games himself. Scrivens is a prospect that's not supposed to be thrown in as a band-aid like this.
It's the one weak spot. Always been.
Leafs might as well hang a jersey over the cross bar and call it a goalie right now. Like I said before, Gus isn't an NHL calibre goalie (right now, but IMO he never will be). Wilson stated tonight after the loss that he already knows who's going in net against the Blues, let's hope to god it's Scrivens so that there's actually a chance.
BTW, I don't really buy in to the necessary easing of Scrivens in to the NHL sort of thing. Sure, shelter them a bit against high scoring power teams, but he's an excellent 25 year old goalie that's more than proven himself at the AHL. Yes, he has let in some very weak goals up at the NHL level, but consider that that he routinely saves them (as he should) at the AHL and and is also excellent on a nightly basis. The first time he was ever yanked from a hockey game at the professional level was against the Bruins. The missing piece right now is confidence, which will come more naturally with more games played. My gut tells me Scrivens will soon be better than Reimer and the #1, but this relies on Gus being banished from Leafland.
edit: reason I think he's better than Reimer: while they play the exact same style of hockey (level headed, positionally sound), Scrivens is much more athletic in terms of lateral movement and has a very, very good glove hand. Rarely does he get beat glove side.
$20 if you concuss him again.
Seriously though, the Caps have been playing pond hockey since the Green injury. The D pairings are shit, and outside of the Carolina game the goaltending has been meh. PK has been awful too. The Vancouver game and this one against Dallas show how you can beat the Caps, and they better get this shit fixed.
Also Adam Burish is an ass with a stupid face and I want to bash in said face.
Burish is god you take that back.
This is so false.
I don't have internet at my new place yet, so I can't post while watching the game. Reading bluefan's posts this morning makes me.
Aside from that last goal, I could put some sort of blame on Miller for not stopping the others. He really needs to step his game up.
Reffing was pretty bad, I'll agree.
