FUCK YOU BACK BUTTON. ERASED ALL MY SHIT.

So since today no on'es playing, I thought it'd be fun to bust out the crystal puck and throw down some predictions for friday.

unfortunately, I hit the back button and lost most of it. So here's the abridged version, too bad.
    (away) vs (home)
Detroit vs Boston: If anyone can slay the bruins, it's Babcock's Red Wings on national TV. Tim Fuckin' Thomas is on fire, but Jimmy Howard is quietly a .927, 1.89 GAA, solid numbers vs Thomas. Detroit puts more rubber on net than anyone else in the league.

New jersey vs New York Isles: Mad Mike Milbury is such a bad GM this team is still paying for his crazy deals. Bertuzzi, Mccabe, and a Draft pick that became Jarkko Ruutu, for Linden, who ended up back in Vancouver anyway. Zdeno Chara, bill Muckalt, and a 1st round (2nd overall - became a Spezza) for old-Alexei yashin (Milbury signs Yashin to a monster 10 year contract, yashin's production drops precipitously after year 1 and has his contract bought out while he plays in Russia. That's $2.2M/year and it's still on the books). How about G Roberto Luongo and F Olli Jokinen to the Florida Panthers for F Oleg Kvasha and Mark Parrish? That forced the Isles to use their 1st pick on rick DiPietro over... everything else in that draft that was good. Keep Smokin' that crack, it's another bad year for the Isles.

Montreal vs Philadelphia: Scott Gomez is injured! Yay! Spacek is injured! Boo. Philly is coming home off a come-from-behind win, but have dropped games against lesser teams before. Still, philly is leading the league in Goals For, habs to lose in Philly.

Edmonton vs Minnesota: Edmonton is so up and down you don't know whether they're going to win by 4 or lose by 4 on any given night. Plus their defensive corps is ravaged. Minnesota has a 51 year old goalie on the payroll, but Backstrom is expected back for this game and they've been consistently good this season. Just... fucking cover Nugent-Hopkins god damn.

New York Rangers vs Washington: Talk about streaky, washington won 7, lost 6 of 7, and have won the last two games. Here's a bonkers stat: The Rangers are 9-1-0 when scoring first and 1-4-3 when they don't. The Capitals, however, are defying logic by going 4-4-1 when scoring first and 8-3-0 when allowing the first goal. Ride the wave, Washington to win again.

Chicago vs Anaheim: They call this the "circus trip" and for Chicago it's been a big pie in the face. Big win against Vancouver 5-1, then Chicago forgot wut is hackeys? and scored only 4 goals in their next three games. The peak of the brain-drain was the Alberta leg, a 6-2 loss to Calgary and a whopping 9-2 loss to edmonton. Oh sure Kane/toews/sharp/hossa are going to be all right, but the rest of the team is AWOL on scoring. Contrast this with Anaheim, which is still getting great production from Saku Koivu, Teemu Selanne, and Fuck Corey Perry, but they can't win a game to save their lives. Hiller is .900, and being from Toronto I know that can suck badly. Chicago had a close game against San Jose, vastly outshooting the sharks but losing 1-0, and I expect them to bury Anaheim's season once and for all.

Ottawa vs Pittsburg: No explanation necessary.

Winnipeg vs Carolina: By record alone, both teams are 2-0-1 in their last three, both teams are coming off a shutout loss, but Winnipeg's already thin blue line has been ravaged. The Jets are playing for the lulz, Carolina is playing to save Paul Maurice's job.

Buffalo vs Columbus: You want to talk injuries? Buffalo is missing Boyes, Kaleta, Miller, Ennis, Weber, and McCormick. This is a spectre of the team that beat the Jackets earlier this season. Steve Mason is out with a head injury from counting goals against, but backup Curtis Sanford has gone 2-0-2 with a 1.33 goals-against average and .949 save percentage in five outings this season. Combined with a resurgence from the Jackets as a team, and I think Columbus is well-positioned to take this at home.

Tampa Bay vs Florida: The Battle of the Pacemakers? Roloson isn't getting any younger, and his SV% isn't getting any better. Tampa has not played like the scourge of last year's playoffs - oh sure St. Louis/Stamkos/Lecavalier will be dangerous, but the beef behind them in Bergeron and Moore have been underperforming. The 1-3-1 is useless when playing from behind, and with Tampa's otherwise mediocre defence they haven't had many chances to bust out the trap. Compared to Florida, sleeper hit of the year with Fleishmann, Weiss, and Versteeg - one of the best lines in the NHL so far - and solid goaltending from Jose "Remember me, bitches?" Theodore, and I see stormy weather for Tampa. Side note: Florida is rebuilding and they're in position for a run. Craziness.

Calgary vs St. Louis: I have not followed either of these teams this year, but the Blues are riding the new-coach honeymoon all over the NHL, and have surged to within spitting distance of Detroit for division leader. St. Louis to win at home, as Calgary continues to struggle on the road.

Toronto vs Dallas: For the only game these two teams have played this season, the leafs have been all over the map game-wise while nursing injuries to key players in the lineup, while Dallas suffered a 5 game losing streak since their hot start, losing ground to LA and San Jose. Toronto had a losing streak of it's own, sparked by losses such as Armstrong, Reimer, Brown, Connolly(back now), MacArthur(also back), Kadri, Lombardi, and Grabovski, but snapped the losing skid with some pretty impressive laffers against some pretty unlikely teams. Dallas also snapped their skid in front of their new manager, winning the last two and rediscovering their scoring touch. However, the leafs offence leads the league (dealwithit.gif) and boasts a strong PP (somewhat inflated by said laffer games). If the Stars take as many penalties as they've been doing the last while, (worst disparity in the league, 93 PKs vs 61 PPs), even the Leafs' inflated PP figures are going to strike. Don't let that terrible leafs PK stat fool you (79%), in the last 5 games the leafs have been over 85% shorthanded, and are cleaning up their act, albeit slowly.

Vancouver vs Phoenix: Luongo is healthy enough to play, but Cory Schneider is good enough to stay in the net. Whether Vigneault give a break to Schneider, hot off a shutout win, is up for debate. Vancouver still boasts a ridiculously strong PP, but Phoenix boasts Mike Smith who's playing some serious goaltending - 10-3-3 with 2.15 GAA and .935SV%. Yandle is scoring, Vrbata is scoring, and Doan is scoring, I give the edge to Phoenix at home.

I am thankful for having the best trio of centers in the game finally all back together, healthy, at once. *Knockonwood*

Yeah, as evident with the blocking of the Staal for Kesler trade.

Yeah, lol doesn't matter now, I ended up just dropping Kesler for Derek Roy considering no one would really give me anything better than Staal with the way Kesler has been playing this year.

Oilers are something retarded like 0-17 since 2007 playing in Minnesota.
However, I'm predicting another beast game from RNH/Hall/Eberle, as well as Gagner's first goal of the season tomorrow.
Also, Smyth is still playing like a man possessed 1/4 of the way through the season.

Need Detroit to shell Timmy Thomas. Because I hate Boston and Thomas is the opposing goalie in the BG pool this week.
