Maybe the pads need replaced 2-3 times every year cause they don't have longevity as much, but if thats what it takes....

3 million dollar contract...cant afford to have 50$ elbow pads changed every 3 months.

They need to do away with some of the things they've done to speed the game up...as much as it may upset some people. And please dont take that as me being a fan of that as the solution.

They also need stiffer restrictions on equipment...some of the shoulder pads players wear are hard as bricks.

I don't agree with the change of the rules just yet, but they certainly need to tone down the equipment. Looks like Dion can barely get his jersey over his sholderpads. Need the tiny ones that Mark Recchi used.

- Inability to get into opponent zone and keep it in for longer then 5secs
- Going 0/4 on the PP and only managing 4 shots
- Turning over the puck every 3 seconds
- Not wanting to skate to puck, Example, Letting Caps retrieve a puck on icing

Piss poor performance by the Jets. They deserved to lose tonight ('Cept Pavelec. Only one who cared tonight). Quietest night so far at the MTS Center I could remember. Fans know when they're playing like shit.

Oh well, I'll drown my sorrows in a couple of Jets shot glasses I just picked up.

Watched the game but didn't post, was unpacking during commercials/intermissions. Pavelec was unreal, and the top line for the Jets had a couple real nice chances. Neuvirth was really good too but didn't have as many spectacular saves. Both power plays looked pretty ass. Felt really good when Ovie buried that goal though. He's looked a lot better since Hunter took over but hasn't had much in the way of results. Hope we light up Varly on Saturday.

Just when I thought I had repressed those 3 years Messier played with the Canucks he brings them all screaming back with him taking the Canucks to arbitration. In his contract at the time he had a clause which tied the value of the team to what he got paid. Legal binding contract or not fuck that guy.

BOSTON -- A former Boston Bruin and current TV analyst has been charged with assault and battery on a child.

Michael Milbury, who currently works as a hockey analyst for Versus NHL, was accused of assaulted a 12-year-old youth hockey player at the Dexter School Ice Rink in Brookline last week.

Milbury is an assistant coach of a local hockey team, and the alleged victim is a player from an opposing team.

Milbury played 12 seasons for the Bruins and was head coach for one season.

also noteworthy: per Pierre LeBrun, the number of diagnosed concussions this year is actually not greater than last year at this point, it just seems like it because last year most of the concussed players were grinders, unlike this year where there's tons of all-stars.

Also seems like the diagnoses are more public, instead of days and weeks of "upper body injury" and then after the season is over "oh yeah I had a concussion."

The Milbury thing is probably trumped up as hell, he probably grabbed some kid who was acting like a shithead by the collar or something and the kid's butthurt coddling parents filed charges to set up a cash-grab lawsuit.
