I trying to think of another team in any sport that is as politicized as the Canadiens. I'm having a hard time thinking of any. It's a fucking sports team, yes it's got a storied history but none of shit is going to matter if you handicap them in the present to preserve some bullshit sentiment from the past.

Only thing that comes to mind could either be a British soccer team, and or France/Spain soccer team, or really any country in Europe that is crazy about soccer, and English isn't a primary language that the rest of the nation speaks. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head lol.

Americans get choice of German, French, and Spanish - my high school also offered Latin and most high schools are adding Asiatic language programs (Korean, Chinese, Japanese) now, provided they can afford to hire the teacher(s) for them.
