I am on the fence about Radulov. He's torn up the KHL, but prior to that he had one good season in the NHL then bolted. We've all seen that success in other leagues doesn't automatically mean success in the NHL. I think it would be very interesting to see how he would do now that he's matured and grown into his body. I can see him as a 60 - 70 point a year player. Which on some teams wouldn't even be the number one scorer. But on a team like Nashville he could be huge.

Haha the last statement is the key part of it. Honestly, I think if a Flyers / Pens / Hawks / etc fan had to become a Preds fan for a season, they would probably kill themselves. The Preds are a solid team, but I swear 80% of your average casual NHL fans couldn't name a single forward on our team except for Tootoo because he's a pain in the ass to other fanbases. You have no idea who, if anyone, will score on a given night.

Radulov may not be the next coming of Crosby / Giroux / etc., but he is likely better than any forward we have. Throw Craig Smith, Colin Wilson, and Radulov on a line and you'll have something special, potentially top-10 first lines in the NHL type special in ~2 years assuming Radulov stuck around.

(Craig Smith is a Calder contender this year and Colin Wilson was a first round draft pick who is equally young and is pretty fucking sick)

I do like Craig Smith. What I've seen from him is pretty impressive. Admittedly don't know much about Colin Wilson. If Hornqvist could regain his 30 goal form that would go a long way as well. It kind of makes you wonder whether or not his 30 goal season was an aberration. Nashville reminds me a lot of the Panthers back when they made the Cup run with John Vanbiesbrouck back in the 95-96 season. No superstars up front. No stars up front. Fantastic defense and great goaltending. Makes you wonder what Florida could have done if they had just one potent winger or center on the roster. No disrespect to my man Stu Barnes.

Nashville reminds me a lot of the Panthers back when they made the Cup run with John Vanbiesbrouck back in the 95-96 season. No superstars up front. No stars up front. Fantastic defense and great goaltending.

Oh man I'd forgotten about Beezer. Still can't believe that run Florida had that year because of him. That run Florida went on and the run Buffalo went on with Hasek were my two favorite non Canucks memories from hockey in the 90s.

When I say "casual NHL fans" I mean the people who wear a team's jersey and know less than half of that team's roster, not you guys or people on HFBoards.

Hornqvist is a garbage collector. I don't think he'll ever get 30 goals again; he's slow as hell, has mediocre stickhandling, and really depends on a lot of shots from his linemates and rebounds from the goalie. But yeah, the Preds are pretty similar to the Panthers in that era.

Hornqvist is a younger version of Tomas Holmstrom, good for 15 - 25 goals a season just standing up front taking a beating. If he can become as big an agitator as Holmstrom then Hornqvist will become extremely valuable.
