Richard Park isn't even a Penguins starter.... hes on a 2-way contract and is only even in the line up now because Malkin is out. He wasn't in the line-up vs Vancouver or Calgary.

I wish I looked in to him more before making that move, He'll be sitting on my bench till i can drop him next week. But I should have enough offense to balance to balance things out.

I find it funny that Cooke is beasting so far in fantasy and he is only owned by 6%(+4.8% this week) of teams. People hate his ass so much they don't want him on their fantasy teams..

and it felt like stealing from you Ace when I picked up Neuvirth on the weekend. it felt gooood! During the Caps game on Mon, after every soft goal Vokoun gave up, I couldn't help but think, at least he isn't kicking my butt in fantasy tonight!

So since Ive been up since 6:30 am going over fantasy leagues rather then doing actual work, what do ya guys think of my moves I made since I'm still in tired.


For my Yahoo league I tossed Tomas Kaberle for Sheldon Souray, Patric Hornqvist for Daniel Alfredsson. I think the big risk with dropping Christian Ehrhoff for the young kid Yannick Weber, I liked his play in the Winnipeg game on defense, but then again it was the Jets. But I also like what he had to say about getting switch down on D, "It's twice in a row and it gives me a chance to prove that they're wrong," but only time will tell with this one.

My goalies pretty much fucked me this week though. I had Cam Ward and Tomas Vokoun against, Ilya Bryzgalov and Kari Lehtonen. So I got fucked over hard there unless a miracle can happen. I might pick up Semyon Varlamov next week if things don't improve for one of them.


For the BG ESPN league I made some moves this morning also. I'll start off with the "just woke up, didn't quite know what I was thinking" move. I dropped Samuelsson, for Richard Park since I was puck drunk off him after last game. I also dropped Bouwmeester, and Val Filppula. While I think Val Filppula is due for a breakout season since he'll be skating with Zetterberg and Frazen, but I don't think it's going to start for him yet not at least until mid November. I picked up Joffrey Lupul, he didn't play that much last season, 28 games after being traded, but he put up 18 points, since he'll be matched up with Kessel that should lead to plenty of assist this season. I also grabbed P.A. Parenteau since he looks like he is going to repeat his points that he had last season under the lead of a new coach who had some decent successes in the AHL.

Don't drop a guaranteed producer like Erhoff for some kid, and get Varlamov immediately. I dropped Kaberle for Souray in one of my leagues too. Hope it doesn't bite me in the arse.

@ - Bregor I should be able to pick up Varly once I hear about whats going on with Krejci since he apparently has a leg injury now. If he's out for any extended time I'll dump him, but the only other people I would drop on my Yahoo roster would be Jordan Staal, Ian White or Kronwall. But I still have the aching feeling that they all will be productive down the line.


@ - Judai. I was fucking furious that game, and generally fucking furious @ 3 of my 4 goalies I picked up. Backstrom lost me 2.6 points Monday, and Jose Theodore loses me 2 points yesterday. I swear Ty Conklin, the backup is going to be the goalie of the year for me. Generally this first week has been full of mistakes for me since most of the players who I expected to generate points for me have yet to start their motors.

Alright, so I some-what finalized my team for Yahoo for the next couple of weeks or so.

5. Goalies

a. Vokoun – Ward

6. Bench

The only move I’ll have to make after this first week is picking Varlamov in the place of Y.Weber. Later on try to use Staal along with White for some trades, maybe Burrows also, but I'm not to sure where I stand with him yet. Ya guys seen any holes in it?

For a lot of people(me included) I'd say it wasn't so much hating on Cooke as much as not wanting to pick up a guy who is one bad decision from missing a quarter of the season. Similar to why I passed on someone like Havlat, I think he's an amazing player but the likelihood of him actually playing a full season seemed low and I didn't want to lose a roster slot to a guy who isn't getting me points because he's not playing.

Spacek is apparently out for 3 weeks, Habs are probably really wishing they had kept Sopel arouund rigt about now.

Also career 300 points in 800 games, not exactly primed to keep up scoring pace. Same deal with Jason Chimera in DC, career grinder. Just more of an impact on the ice than on a fantasy roster. If I thought Cooke, Carcillo, Avery etc. would help me win, I'd sign them all.

So the Wings might be moving to the Southeast when conference realignment talks are finalized in (supposedly) December. Of course meaning it would start next season, but it's an interesting choice. Trips to Florida several times a year isn't great travel-wise, but it would eliminate a lot Western Canada/US road trips. Winnipeg would be put into the Central.
