Your logic is so flawed. You would knock a guy out as he picked one up even if he was intending to buy it? How would you know if he was going to eat it or buy it? Clean hit, deal with it. Dirty hit, reckless hit, really big hit, fine, knock them out. However it wasn't even a big hit. It would be like someone stuck their hand out pointing at a cookie and you knocked them out. It's funny, on one hand you condone beating players senseless because they looked wrongly at your star players and on the other hand you act like your star players are wimps who can't take a hit. Injuries happen, I wouldn't be pissed if someone happened to injure my player with a clean hit. If it was someone like Cooke elbowing someone in the head however, I would hope multiple people jumped the bench and beat the shit out of him.

Players shouldn't have to fight because they hit a star with a clean check in the flow of the game. Not like we are going to agree on this though. Pens fan and Caps fan, like mixing Oil and Water, if Oil and Water hated each other and wanted to see the other burn.

Being late on the topic, but I think Asham's fight was fine. Yeah he taunted Beagle after he took him down, but the fight just ended and he had no idea Beagle was KO'd that severely. I can respect him for saying the taunting was classless (From the video I saw of his comments afterwards, I think he was referring to the taunting, not the fight itself, as being classless), but in the heat of the moment, I don't blame him for getting amped up like that. You can tell when he got into the box and actually realized the severity of it, it began to set in what he did.

As for this discussions on stars and enforcers and who hits who, I figure they're all grown men. Yes, enforcers shouldn't go on the ice to target a star for no reason other than to intimidate/hurt them, but at the same time if a star does something cheap/illegal they should reap what they sow. How the other team goes about doing this, I have no idea, but throwing cheap hits and doing things that are illegal shouldn't be ignored or considered a good retaliation regardless of whether you're a star player or a 4th line plug.

Also, Curtis Glencross isn't a 4th line enforcer for the Flames >_>. Yeah, he's definitely not Malkin caliber, but fuck that, he should be able to hit Malkin if Malkin leaves himself open for a hit.

Curtis Glencross is the most annoying dick the Pens have played in awhile, at least all of this season so far. I haven't hated someone this bad since I had to put up with Martin St Louis for 7 games, but I hated MSL cause he was scoring repeatedly. I hate Curtis Glencross cause he was slashing everyone after every single whistle and just being a pest. Did you see why Malkin and him got in a tussle? Malkin went to go pick up his stick after a whistle and Glencross skated up to it and kicked it away from Malkin. What a fucking prick.

True, true, I noticed that for a split second during the fight. I think its only a penalty though if you start the fight and don't remove it - if your combatant starts it and there's no squaring up / circling each other moment in which you can take it off, you're fine.

Anyways, no Malkin again tonight - more soreness in his surgery knee. Pittsburgh is one of the best medical centers in the world - why the fuck do our players keep getting goofups and lingering symptoms? Staal's foot got infected last year, now Malkin probably has scar tissue that'll need arthroscopic'ed at the very least - or for all we know, a surgery that didn't fully 100% tie off the problem.

Fourth liners are always going to take runs at another team's skilled players. It's just a fact of life. That's not going to change. Beagle was doing what he needs to do in order to keep his job, and I have no problem with that. He's a grown man, he didn't have to drop the gloves, but he did. Even though the hit on Letang wasn't all that serious, Asham let Beagle know if he didn't knock it off he would need to drop the gloves. Beagle didn't back down and got his ass handed to him. Asham didn't go up to him and immediately start wailing on him from the blindside. Asham did his job. Guaranteed Beagle will have second thoughts about taking liberties with the Pens skill guys in the future. And in the end that's what Asham was supposed to do. Make someone think twice. Should be entertaining the next time they play now as a result.

I only really caught the first period on TV, the second period I was driving, and the third I was kind of half watching while at a party. By the beginning of the third we were down 4-1, so I'm not actually all that surprised he did shit like that, lol.

OHL always has people with gaudy numbers since noone plays defense there like they do in the WHL. The QMJHL has less scoring too but that's just because everyone there sucks.
