Oddly enough, Pajaarvi looks like such an odd man out at this point. I mean, he's not on Hall/Eberle/RNH level right now, but he has all the tools to be. I think what's sorta harsh is we have all the young talent in the world, but a lack of ice time for the Omark's/Pajaarvi's right now. When Gagner comes back, I'm sure he'll be on that 3rd line with them.
Ales Hemsky once again being hurt doesn't surprise me, they need to unload him this year. He used to be the exciting player here, which of course led to an overhyping and dubbing him a ghetto Datsyuk type player, but he's really not that great. Especially not now when we're seeing up-and-comers that'd skate circles around his toe-drag and not shoot ness. That and everyone has caught onto his toe-drag move, so he just gets put on his ass whenever he skates in on a defenceman who's played more than 1 shift at an NHL level.
Nobody will take Horcoff at $6m a year, but if we could unload that contract it'd free up money to hang onto Hall/Eberle/RNH.

Also, CG "Winnepag" on your first win.

As if to give the whole world a giant "fuck you" for doubting them and making fun of every move they made last year, the Colorado Avalanche lead the NHL with 10 points after going undefeated on a 5 game road trip.

The New York Rangers remain winless at 0-1-2, showing that the Richards acquisition was clearly the correct move to move them past the other perennial powerhouse New York team, the Islanders, who sit at 3-1-0.

The Penguins are proving that playing twice as many games as other teams does not mean you will be #1 in the league, and that having your best players in wheelchairs and puking from looking at bright lights does in fact impact the quality of the team.

Winnipeg and Ottawa are doing their damnedest to show that Canada can and will keep getting the #1 pick overall for quite a few years to come, despite Edmonton elevating their play from "nauseating" to "resembles professional hockey."

Dallas is well on its way to setting a record for "lower total attendance than total points on the season."

The Predators are suffering again due to their lack of understanding the basic concept and goal of hockey, to score goals on your opponent, and furthermore actually shooting the puck.

Toronto seems to want to change things up from last year, giving fans false hope from the start, rather than starting more than halfway through the season.

oh and some retard-looking asshole is leading the league in goals and points. And an old-ass drunk in GAA and Sv%.

    aaaand Fuck Corey Perry.

Well, as I already stated, the Avs were fine the first 4 months of the season then totally fell apart the last 3.

And Toronto started off last year 4-0 so seems notning new there

Ya Toronto, Dallas, and the Avs are off to similar starts. The big change from last season is the Ducks who have always been notoriously slow starters.

Looks like Letang might have been suspended for his boarding penalty on Burmistrov, Pens recalled Strait. Ugh.

Such bullshit... Burmistrov turned towards the boards as Letang began his checking motion.... And it was in the Winnepeg end right at the blue line - Letang HAS to wipe a player like Burmistrov out there cause if you don't pinch him off along the wall, with Burmistrov's speed he could easily be gone for a breakaway and you never catch him.

    HAS to?

Letang easily could've just started playing the puck or not followed through with the shove. If he at least attempted to disengage from the hit, it would've been fine. I don't think it warrants a suspension, but the hearing with Shanahan is.

Great move by Letang to swat it out of the net. As for the hit, Burmistove turned at the last second or the hit would have been much worse. 1 game suspension max.

    Return of Kesler tonight.

Actually, I just remembered Letang doing the same to Spezza awhile back. Incoming 1-2 games.

I think 2 games is a bit much. Burmistrov clearly saw Letang coming and knowingly turned his back to him. Again it always comes down to does the recipient of the hit bear some responsibility for putting himself in that position to begin with? By suspending Letang, Shanahan has also essentially said the refs called it wrong. They didn't think it was bad enough to warrant a major penalty and a game misconduct but Shanahan thinks it's worse apparently. Bad suspension. Only the second one of Shanahan's I don't agree on.

I really don't want to seem like a homer, but I really feel like that hit didn't justify any suspension.

What I'm really disgusted with is how Rob Rossi has a job. The dude is a hack. He tweeted something along the lines of "if it was Crosby how would Pens fans feel." How do you think we would feel, fatty? We're gonna wince every time Crosby gets hit regardless of whether it's a clean check or not. Fuck Rossi.
