This years pens is started to remind me of the early 2000's LA kings when Palffy, Deadmarsh, Allison where all out of the line up for awhile.

Yeah, was way after. That happened when he was still with the Avs.

Sadly, Deadmarsh's career ended because his own teammate (Craig Johnson) kneed him in the head during practice.

Has the NHL came out and said why they won't judge powerplays per 2:00 instead of per attempt? I understand you can technically be over 100% early in the season if you were to score on multiple PPs, but it would eventually work itself out. I just think it's lame to be like 0/4 on the power play and 3 of those are :17, :24, and :39 seconds long. I've always hated that. Not a super accurate representation of PP/PK percentage.

In all honesty, I think this fits the classic definition of the punishment not fitting the crime. There are those accidental penalties or those fake penalties (diving, holding stick in mid-section to make it look like you're being hooked, etc.) that shouldn't be turned over to the firing squad.

Refs get things wrong too and it would be unfortunate if a team gets 5 goals against them because of a ref error. That would make too many games decided by the refs and not the talent.
