-Sure enough our special teams, especially the previously-abyssmal PK, haven't done too bad. Well it's pretty fucking easy when you win three of every four face-offs.

It's just Leafs Opening Day @ Home VS Montreal. No big deal or anything

EDIT: Also his first NHL game after making an NHL roster.

He hasn't completely screwed the pooch either, just saw a nice calming breakout pass from Gardiner. So long as it's not catastrophic, it's par for the rookie course IMO

I let every single defenseman drop til the 12th round by strategic design.... I focused on Wingers/Goalies first 5-6 rounds, sprinkled in Centers during the mid rounds, then picked up 4 straight defensemen 12th-15th and Mikael Backlund 16th.

I think it's a pretty good bargoon... Phaneuf was out for 20 games with a deep tendon cut from a skate last year, and didn't do jack until the end of the season.

He'll have a better season than last year as a given.
