Really solid all-around performance for the Penguins, super bummed I wasn't in line in time to get the $25 tickets for student rush.....

How bad did the Canadiens look though that third period? They literally didn't get the puck into the Penguins end for 6 whole minutes of game time except for an icing.

As far as Fleury's shutout being lost - oh well, Pens go to 5-2-2.

You would think that. But that's not the case as there is major hate from the other Canadian cities. They hate our free flowing attitude, our weather, our fashion (yoga pants & Uggs on our females) and obviously our hockey team.

So we're having a discussion about which D-man will make team Canada for Sochi. Friend says jay Bouwmeester & Dion Phaneuf could make the team. I almost tossed my beer at him. Willing to bet PK has a better chance then those two if he continues the way he plays.

$25 for "student tickets"? Wow, the Penguins organization has done it right by promoting cheap tickets to college students and get them hooked at a young age. 5-10 years down the road these kids will be buying season tickets.

Penguins been named by a couple different magazines/groups as being the top sporting franchise for PR / Youth PR. Student Rush has been going on since the lockout ended (and back then it was nice for a couple years cause there were leftover seats for every game since we weren't selling out so you could show up at 6pm and buy $20 tickets for lower bowl seats).

Now they set aside a block of 100-200 tickets for every game and an extra 500 tickets for 4-6 select home games and you can line up for them at $25 apiece with any student ID card. You wait outside a long ass time (have to get there in the AM) but on the select home games like today's where there's the extra 500, they set up a DJ outside and American Eagle (a trendy-ish preppy-ish teen/twenty-something clothing line who originated in Pittsburgh years ago) passes out free gift cards, shirts, hoodies, sweater hats, etc. AND they around 4-5 PM (cause they know you've been sitting out there a long ass time) send out ~ a half dozen Penguins players (never Crosby/Malkin, or there'd be a riot, but do send Letang/Fleury/Orpik on occasion) with an SUV full of 100-150 large Pizza Hut Pizzas that they hand out for free before signing autographs. It really is a fucking awesome event and I call off work/skip class for it like its nobody's business. Next one is the November 15th home game... I think against the Ducks, not sure. Can't wait though. Me & my gal both already requested that day off from our jobs.
