So we're having a discussion about which D-man will make team Canada for Sochi. Friend says jay Bouwmeester & Dion Phaneuf could make the team. I almost tossed my beer at him. Willing to bet PK has a better chance then those two if he continues the way he plays.

$25 for "student tickets"? Wow, the Penguins organization has done it right by promoting cheap tickets to college students and get them hooked at a young age. 5-10 years down the road these kids will be buying season tickets.

when I was in college, Penguins student rush tickets were $16. They've been doing it for a long time. And its awesome.

Benched my goalies the rest of the week to preserve GAA/Save% perfection & stole both hits and shots on goal from you, but hey - you're kicking my ass in Goals and Assists, which is apparently good enough for you! (and even then you're only up in Assists by 2 which is within reason to change lol)

Also - I did not know about pre-lockout student rush. My senior year of HS was 2005-2006 so while I did attend Penguin games pre-lockout, I was not of the age to skip school and go sit in downtown Pittsburgh without a grown adult all day.

Today's Pizza passer-outers by the way: Aaron Asham, Deryk Englland, Pascal Dupius, and James Neal. Might've been more, but those were the only 4 Errey&Staggy mentioned on commentary.

me and Thoronas were saying the same thing, I really thought that the Avs GM had lost his fucking mind between that and the Stewart/Shattenkirk trade, but they do look damn good and Varly is playing lights out. They maybe didn't need to give up the draft pick to get him, but if he went UFA he also could've gotten snatched by someone out of nowhere, mad Dale Tallon was still out there and apparently into ex-Capital goalies lol.

To be fair the Stewart/Shattenkirk deal keeps looking worse and worse, so he's even between those at best, and still behind at best.

Varly was a beast in WSH but he couldn't make it more then a month or two before getting injured and regardless, the Avs could have handed him an offer sheet for less then they gave up in the trade. Hope he plays well and gets rid of the injury bug though, they actually showed his highlights on the jumbotron during the Caps game I went to.
