fuck yeah NBA lockout, CSN needs shit to fill time so we're getting more bonus out-of-market games than usual, looks like I get Sharks/Devils tonight
what the fuck lol, Ishido's like entire goddamn roster is playing tonight and I don't have a single player
edit: yeah I got totally boned this week lol, we have the same amount of players playing every night except tonight
I don't deny that Varlamov is an above average goalie. But I'm not going to say he is going to be carrying the team because he's never had a full season's workload to prove he can sustain this type of play. He's played well in his limited time, but the jury is still out as to whether or not he will be able to be an everyday goaltender. He's never even cracked 30 games played in an NHL season. A first rounder(and in all likelihood when it's said and done, a low first rounder) and a 2nd rounder is an extremely high price to pay for an unproven commodity. Always keep in mind if he's signed to an offer sheet and Washington lets him walk it would have cost a 2nd round pick only.I agree they over paid for Varly. But there's no denying he has the ability to carry when need be. Which you can't really put a price on.
Remember, Steve Mason was fantastic as a rookie. Now it's looking like he was a flash in the pan. Could this be Varly? We'll find out.
I think no matter what, most teams stay away from doing the signing sheet thing. Esp a young team like Colorado its within their best interest to not do the offer sheet route because it might come back to bite them when their young players are RFAs.
I know whats why the Kings stayed away from it because of fear if they did it, people would then turn around and offer sheet someone like Doughty or Johnson or Kopitar.
Ya offer sheets seem to be considered rude in the gentleman's club that is the 30 GMs in the NHL. That being said Sherman could have definitely driven a harder bargain than giving up a first, when both he and McPhee knew well and good that an offer sheet was an option and what it would cost.
If I were a GM I'd sign everyone to an offer sheet just to be a dick. But sadly apparently my GM'ing skills will be limited to NHL12.
Columbus 3 minutes away from losing their 7th in a row and staying winless this season.
Arniel's about to have an aneurism I think.
And there it is.
Now I don't feel so bad about the Jets
Also, Babcock on Lidstrom:
I'd laugh if it wasn't true.Obviously, he was touched by a wand by God.
ROFL WHAT. Loui scores on Hiller 13 seconds into the game.
Good. Win tonight, lose tomorrow please.
Yahoo FHL stat tracking is borked then lol
