So pumped the Kings lost. Cheering for the Kings again this playoffs, I would much rather have them face lolcouver and lolongo than the Blues. Predicting a solid upset in 6 games. easier series than against the Blues imo

I can't even bring myself to say "Go 'yotes!" in an attempt to spite and/or cheer for a team nobody else will.
We gonna do the prediction pool thing like last Playoffs?
Rangers vs Ottawa: Ottawa in 6
Boston vs Washington: Boston in 6
Florida vs New Jersey: New Jersey in 5
Pittsburgh vs Philly: Pittsburgh in 6
Vancouver vs LA: Vancouver in 5
St Louis vs San Jose: St Louis in 7
Phoenix vs Chicago: Fuck it... Phoenix in 6
Detroit vs Nashville: Nashville in 6
Withholding predictions til playoff thread. Need some time anyway to think over who I want to pick anyway.
My favorite parts about playoffs is picking OT winners.
It's my addiction.
To restate.
Rangers in 6
Washington in 7
New Jersey in 6
Pittsburgh in 7
Vancouver in 5
San Jose in 6
Chicago in 6
Nashville in 7
waiting for the sites to break down the season series between opponents
I have the worst hiccups of all time
Wow, this is the possible first 4 games for Canucks-Kings
Game 1 at Vancouver: Thursday, April 12
Game 2 at Vancouver: Saturday, April 14
Game 3 at Los Angeles: Sunday, April 15
Game 4 at Los Angeles: Wednesday, April 18
So a back to back, Saturday and Sunday flying from Vancouver to Los Angeles then 2 days off before game 4.
I understand that the Canucks are a better team then the Kings, but for another team that hasn't done jack shit, you don't really have a lot of room to talk.
Chips, looking at that deal again of #2 pick for #5 and Schenn, I'd actually like the deal.
Thinking it over again (I realize it's all just rumors and boredom talking) I'd take Schenn, way less pressure on him here than there would be on Dion. The $3m or so in saved space would help out the Eberle/Hall/RNH Fund as well. But from a fan's standpoint, there'd be too much for Dion to even try and live up to since he's from Edmonton, and look how quickly we gave up on Frootloops when we had Joffrey here for a season.
Of course if by batshit random fluke the Oil got the #1 pick for a 3rd straight year, it would be beyond on the table for a trade.
Nail Yakupov wouldn't be needed. We have enough 5'11" 190 pound players.
We aren't overly hurting for C. Unless we could ditch Whorecough.
Grigorenko would be nice on paper as he's actually taller than 4'2", and the Oilers need size - but we need D way more.
I also fail at posting Youtube links, so I'll just post the addy:

Visa Playoff ad, but with a Jets fan. This ad seems to be on every 10 minutes here, and the first time I saw it I burst out laughing and was like "OMG, it's Bluefan!"

I actually found it hilarious VISA had a commercial prepared so quickly with the Jets out.
Hazing the new guy...![]()
Going to be putting together my spreadsheet and red X'ing the fuck out of people when they are wrong again this year. Will start it once the playoff thread is created.
Several things:
- I'm going to miss this thread title. Corey Perry was certainly fucked this year.
- Congrats on the Presidents', Thorny. I'm glad it wasn't the Rags so I won't have to hear about the '94 team all postseason.
- Jorn getting spicy for the first round matchup, I love it.
- Braden Holtby is a boss.
- Time for those phantom B's fans to come out of the woodwork. WHERE YOU AT? HUH MOTHERFUCKERS?

Time for predictions!!!
EAST
Ottawa( 8) vs NYRangers(1) Rangers in 5
Washington(7) VS Boston(2) Boston in 6
New Jersey(6) vs Florida 3 Florida in 6
Philadelphia(5) vs Pittsburgh(4) : Philadelphia in 7
West
Los Angeles ( 8) vs Vancouver(1) LosAngeles in 7
SanJose (7) vs St-Louis(2) St-Louis in 5
Chicago (6) vs Phoenix(3) Chicago in 7
Detroit (5) vs Nashville(4) Nashville in 6
So close to a thousand pages too. A shame we couldn't reach that plateau. Clean shaven faces by this week gentlemen! Predictions incoming!
Rangers vs Ottawa - Rangers in six. Not to knock Ottawa but they just don't have enough offense to keep up with the Rangers. The big question is whether or not the Rangers can keep the stupid turnovers to a minimum. If they hang Lundquist out to dry there's a potential upset in the making here.
Washington vs Boston - Boston in five. Boston has been streaky this year but I think Thomas is going to turn it up a notch now. Knowing they don't have Rask behind Thomas I think the B's are going to come out and play some shutdown defense. Ovechkin will try to carry the Caps, but without help it's going to be another early exit.
New Jersey vs Florida - Florida in six. My upset for the first round despite Florida having a higher seed. When they lose, they lose big. So I'm expecting at least one blow out loss for the cats. I think Brodeur will continue to show his age and have the worst playoff performance of his career. Parise will keep the Devils in it, but Brodeur's going to lose it.
Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia - The series to watch in the EC. It's going to be brutal and violent. Pens in seven. Both teams have a ton of scoring. Philly has 11 players with 10 goals or more. The Pens have 9 players with 10 goals or more and some guy named Crosby. Marc-Andre Fleury will be the difference maker in this series. If he plays like he did throughout February and March I think the Pens close it out in five games. If he plays like he did against the Islanders it's going to be a loooooong series.
Los Angeles vs Vancouver - Nucks in six. Quick is going to steal two games. LA isn't going to be able to generate enough offense to keep pace with the Canucks and will fall behind early. Luongo will give up several softies but it won't be enough to make a difference.
San Jose vs St. Louis - St. Louis in five. Hitchcock has this team believing they can win. Which considering they were a bubble team last year with pretty much the same pieces, is impressive. Backes is going to be the catalyst for the Blues leading by example. As he crosschecks Joe Thornton into next year.
Chicago vs Phoenix - Chicago in seven. For Phoenix to stand a chance in this one Mike Smith is going to need to be on the top of his game. The guy is a beast when he's on. But when he's off he's a trainwreck. The Hawks have enough offense without Toews to counter whatever Phoenix throws at them.
Detroit vs Nashville - Preds in four. Age finally catches up to the Red Wings as they creak out of the post season. With the trade deadline acquisitions the Preds move solidly into the contender category. With Radulov playing like he hasn't missed a beat the Preds finally have an elite scoring threat. The second best series to watch imo.
Have fun digging through two threads to get everyone's picks, Ishi.
Playoffs yayayayayayay!
