Edit: You're fucking killing me here Canucks. Killing me.
Edit: You're fucking killing me here Canucks. Killing me.
Glad I only have Bryz in ESPN where -3 points isn't as big a deal as a 5.0 GAA for the week.
Kesler and Hamhuis up for grabs!
I guess you could say the Canucks have....
the blues.
How the hell is Hawks/Canucks 4: The Fourthening supposed to happen if the Canucks miss the goddamn playoffs
Soo.... there's a team that has 3 solid goaltenders, all of whom have at least 1 shutout already and who's teams all have at least 2 shutouts already.... someone might be able to find themselves a goalie via trading with this player.... *hint hint*![]()
I have a Carey Price, he is a goalie and does things like stop pucks occasionally.
I really wish Rogers Arena would make more noise whenever Vancouver trails the building looks and feels like a morgue. Would it kill anyone to start a Let's Go Canucks chant? Or a wave? Instead people just sit and stare like zombies. It's fucking depressing. It doesn't help either when all you hear on the radio is THE SKY IS FALLING!!! GOALTENDER isn't playing good in October!!! (has he ever?) The offseason was short, players are banged up, the teams not scoring first, the little things aren't getting done. No reason for a panic button... The time and place for that shit was 2-0 2nd period game 7 Stanley Cup Final not October.
I remember the Canucks dropping 2 games in 2 weeks to start the season vs the Kings last year and they seemed to have done well.
It used to be dead silent like that at Rexall Place up until a couple years ago. If the game was going bad, I swear to God you could hear if some old lady was knitting in her seat in section 327 of the nosebleeds. Now the "Let's Go Oilers!" chants start up on a regular basis.
Sorta one of those things where you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
As bad as Montreal has played and the "OMG, the sky is falling!" outcry has been there, there's the flipside of the Washington Capitals. They're on fire with their 7-0-0 start, but instead of good press, I hear more about "They're the San Jose Sharks of the East. Finish first all you want, you'll be out in Round 2."
Will Khabiboozin finish with a GAA under 1.00? Hell no, but I'll enjoy this while I can. Has he silenced me so far? You betcha. I was one of the biggest doubters heading into the season.
Granted come March if you're 3 points out of a playoff spot, you'll look back and think "I wish we hadn't lost those 2 to Phoenix" etc, but to treat October like that's how the rest of the season will go is dumb. Otherwise Brian Savage would've broken Gretzky's career goal mark by February, and Jarome Iginla would always finish with < 40 points a year.
Because the real fans are broke as fuck, with shitty jobs and time to follow an NHL season. The people who made the game are either so busy with their lives they don't care unless the team is winning... and those who forked over for their tickets get their one game of the year and want to see the team winning.
Even the ACC has lost "The Wave" and chants other than "Go leafs go". Home games are more dangerous than aways, because the fickle fans waffle and turn on the team if it looks bad.
Yep.

News from Leafland:
-Kessel leads NHL in scoring. Joe Colborne leads AHL in scoring. Reimer to start Thursday
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bLajhH13sg...Mr%2BBurns.gif
-Connoly likely to start his first game Thursday. Question around Leafland is "If Connolly comes back, where does he play?", thanks to Bozak's resurgence on the Kessel line. Grabovski has his line, 4th line is a laff... Third line? Then someone of Frattin/Kadri/Lombardi must move. If it ain't broke, don't fix it? I wasn't aware the Leafs had the depth or drive to be choosey.
-Cody Franson Trade rumors. It's Toronto, can't go a month without a good trade rumor. With Gardiner solidly in the lineup, Aulie in the minors, Phaneuf and Liles unlikely to move, there have apparently been hits on the Leafs phones from the Lightning, the Rangers, and the Canadians for cheap blueliners.
The problem is we don't have enough defensemen that defend. Phaneuf and Liles are shooters, which keeps them off the same line and requires backup. Same with Gardiner - noted for offensive potential. Gunnarson has been alright. Schenn has had a crap start. Komisarek had some solid early games, but carries the potential to spontaneously combust.
Add Cody Franson, another offensive defenseman... he doesn't even have a linemate. The closest we have to a big D dman to play with him is Aulie, and he's in the AHL. And that would mean 8 Dmen, and we're not going there.
Hence, rumor mill in full output.
Well the good thing about Connoly. Wont have to worry about where to put him at for long.
We'll wait until April and May, but there's something different about this Caps team. The shitstorm after getting swept by the Bolts, plus the offseason acquisitions, they have no excuses this time around. If they go out before the Eastern Conference Finals this season, I'll gladly eat humble pie. And I think McPhee and Boudreau will be looking for new jobs.
I fucking hate that shit, half the lower bowl is empty in Penguin games by the third period and its so quiet now that 12,000 rich people have season tickets. I have video of the jumbotron presentation during the pre-game ceremony for the final game at Mellon Arena and the arena is all dark except for this video presentation - the ushers even pulled the curtains to block the light from the concourses from coming into the bowl - and RIGHT FUCKING IN FRONT OF ME YOU HEAR THIS FUCKING FIFTY YEAR OLD HAG GOING ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT HOW SHE DOESNT LIKE SOMEONE AT HER LAW OFFICE. My parents paid $450 to get me and my girlfriend there for my birthday the August 8 months prior and this wish-she-could-still-be-a-slut ho is more concerned about workplace grudges & gossip that she doesn't want to see the ceremony. I don't think she even cheered when Mario Lemieux came out.
Those people don't go to see the game, they go to be seen.
As a law student, I often come in contact with lawyers, legal mentors, rich people, etc and with their connections, they get discounted tickets (or just outright pay for them), and they rarily go to the games to watch them. They go to entertain or "reward" their clientele and/or employees/co-workers. She probably didn't even know it was the final game at Mellon Arena prior to arriving. Happens all the time and it's more of a PR thing for them than going to enjoy the game. She probably doesn't even like hockey to be honest.
So uh, Ray Emery got his Hawk mask finally and can get rid of his Ducks one. Freaking amazing mask!

Ray Emery sub par goalie, excellent fighter, EPIC mask collection
Kyle Turris has officially asked for a trade out of Phoenix.
If he wants out of the city so bad, why doesn't he just wait til the end of the season when the team moves?
Kind of a tough position though. Former 1st round pick in 2007, was rushed to the NHL by Phoenix and never developed properly.
