I was just killing the wolves in the room next to where he pops with my friend, but dunno if that's what triggered it.

We hung around back area last night hoping it would show up but never did. We checked with the clam being red and yellow both, but didn't appear to matter based on that. Really wanted that eye patch![]()
A few accounts had said that he never popped until they killed a bunch of mobs on the floor and came back. Worked for me too. I waited in that room for a long time and nothing happened. I just looped around the water, killing everything, came back and he was up.
What level could you solo this at?
Solo what exactly? The average Lv.15~20 bat/crab/jellyfish/slug/hyena/firefly? Giant Remora? Shearing Sharidan? Lone Coeurl?
There's really not much to the area. They call it a non-instanced raid, implying it has some sort of goal/boss/etc... but it's really just a zone that happens to have some keys/chests and a few NMs.
The NMs, and getting to them.
Not completely sure, but I could cheese the NMs at 30 with just Banish/Scourge. 25 maybe? You stop getting aggro from the majority of mobs there around that level too, which is convenient if you just want the NMs.
I cleared out the entire floor of pups to pop Lone Coeurl, eye patch looks baller, not much else.
I don't think I touched the pups when I spawned it, just a bunch of slugs/crabs/jellyfish that were near the water.
Yeah, the eyepatch is pretty and pretty useless.
Thanks, I'll give it a go later then maybe at 25 and see what happens lol.
Spent some time in there today since I was in the area. I can confirm that the Lone Couerl pops when all the pups are dead on that floor. Spent time only killing the pups, nothing else, he popped every single time immediately after I killed the last pup. The eyepatch also appears to be a 100% drop as I went 5/5 on it.
Highest level mob i saw in there bar the NMs is 21 I believe, meaning if you wan't to go without aggro you need to be 28? Those are only the pups though, the majority of mobs I saw were <19, and wasn't aggroing them at 26 (was at 25).
Solo'd the Lone Couerl at 25GLA, was hard and died the first time with him at a fraction of HP bar, pretty much 1 hit. Killed 2nd time and went 1/1, so maybe it is 100%.
I keep hearing a lot of different claims as to what exactly pops Lone Coeurl.
It is not:
• specifically killing Mongrel Pups
• timed with the red/orange clam glow
• tied with clearing the entire floor
I was down there the first night of the patch, no one else around. I killed both the other NMs, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all the Mongrel Pups, no Lone Coeurl. I stood in its room for over a half hour, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all the jellyfish around its broken gate, no Lone Coeurl. I depopped Shadow Seekers at the nearest clam, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all of the Shadow Lurkers at the nearest clam, no Lone Coeurl. I walked around the pool of water killing anything within range of my Archer (lots of stuff was left alive on the floor), it popped by the time I came back around.
From all the data I've read, it's probably just tied to a certain amount of pops on the floor being dead, not all, not a specific type, etc.
I dunno, mio, I killed all the mongrel pups and unlike the other mobs they didn't repop nigh instantly: in fact after 4 minutes they hadn't repopped at all, quite unusual inside the dungeon. Then I saw the NM icon and solo'd the couerl, and when I came back all the pups appeared to be up again.
The thing is, when I got him to spawn, there were at least 2 pups up because I didn't feel like going into the hall where they were as I was just making a quick loop around the water.
i just faught the crab NM Shearing Shearidan as 18 pug , was able to get it to 75-80% ish before i ran away hes got kinda poor acc.

Went in there as a couple of level 22 THMs.
I can confirm:
Gold Key drops from Silver Coffer,
Electrum Key drops from Mythril Coffer
Brass, Copper and Bronze drop from mobs.
Seashells go from yellow to red when non-aggro lights arrive (you don't even need to follow them, just wait). When they're red, they spawn aggro lurkers (lights). They're pretty weak, AoE Profundity II + Thunder II kills quite a lot of them. There's multiple wisp spawn waves until the seashell turns yellow again.
Nearby the seashells are the Crab NM and Giant Remora together with small remoras. We did a few "kill lights, open chests, kill NM" cycles down there. With two THMs at lvl 22, you can bring down the NMs by brute force before MP are out.
After about two hours we went out with a couple pieces of Plundered Gear, lots of other (cheap) drops and about 20k SP each.
At level 22, the smaller L15 mobs stop to aggro. There's LOTS and LOTS of mobs in the tunnels, and some still hit pretty hard.
We didn't make it to the steel/rose gold coffer, since we already spent quite a while farming the coffers.
Keeping a couple of extra keys in your loot list works. Just "Take" other stuff every now and then so they won't get purged. The coffers can be opened by multiple chars at once, and it "respawns" after just a few seconds.
/edit: oh, all that !LINK! fun!![]()
