    It is not:

    • specifically killing Mongrel Pups
    • timed with the red/orange clam glow
    • tied with clearing the entire floor

I was down there the first night of the patch, no one else around. I killed both the other NMs, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all the Mongrel Pups, no Lone Coeurl. I stood in its room for over a half hour, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all the jellyfish around its broken gate, no Lone Coeurl. I depopped Shadow Seekers at the nearest clam, no Lone Coeurl. I killed all of the Shadow Lurkers at the nearest clam, no Lone Coeurl. I walked around the pool of water killing anything within range of my Archer (lots of stuff was left alive on the floor), it popped by the time I came back around.

From all the data I've read, it's probably just tied to a certain amount of pops on the floor being dead, not all, not a specific type, etc.
I don't know what to tell ya then. I went back to test his pop conditions again and he always popped on the dot for me when I would kill the last pup. I placed my mule in his room so I could see exactly when he would pop and killing pups is the only thing that made him spawn for me. I didn't mess with any lights or the other NMs either. The pups also all spawned at the same time when I would kill him. Tested 10 times and also got 10 eyepatches, so 100% drop rate looking more and more true.

Confirmed. I did what he said and he popped for me and dropped the eyepatch.

Yeah, I went back and tested it. It does indeed pop when all of the Jackal Pups on that floor are dead. I guess someone else killed the one I left alive during my above experiences. I also noticed that those Jackal Pups repop quite a bit slower than a normal mob, making it a bit easier to manage.

Updated OP with latest information, compiled drop list, and added updated maps. Think that's about all there is to this place but it should remain a good resource for people just starting out.

About what level would a party of 4 be able to do the NMs? If they're getting soloed around 23~25 I'd imagine 19 or 20?
