Win.
Yea 2012 hasn't been good for streams so far. I missed the last major this past month and didn't really miss out on anything.
Mainly watching Cross Assault for the funnies. Kinda like why I watch wrestling these days to laugh and oogle the womens.
Spoiler: show
I'm just glad that Jared Rea is finally getting blown up for the fraud that he is. Especially after he tried to play it cool at the Capcom offices, only to bitch on his own stream.
"I stopped doing Frame Trap because no one from the FGC wanted to do anything with me." Maybe if you didn't use IPW as a stepping stone to get your position on Twitch and ride that eSports dick wholesale, then you wouldn't have been in such a situation. Good god, even the blind man could see your folly.
Hah, you said "folly".
Jared is a joke.
Don't know much about him. Whats up with him? lol
Blackrose pretty much summed it up. He's just another guy that's kissing his ass up the way to MLG/IPL/eSports big time. He used to be a game tester, then game journalist, but then started working his way up to being Twitch TVs community manager (just recently of a few months ago ish). He used to genuinely love fighting games like the rest of us, but the color of money is too great for him as well. Like a high quality Gootecks or something. The sad part is that many people (including myself) though he'd help relations between the FGC and MLG/IPL. Guess it doesn't matter, since Capcom finally stepped in.
Can't knock his hustle, but he's not really a face of the FGC anymore. At any rate, he's that type of guy that will smile in your face and talk behind your back.
He's currently the Community Manager over at TwitchTV. Used to the be the same position at IPW. Have no idea about him beforehand. He's a NorCal player. However, I don't think I have ever seen him actually playing at the NorCal spots (and if he did, it probably was not memorable). However, since he went on to Twitch, he seriously cannot stop talking about eSports and how the FGC needs to be rolled in.
He was at the Capcom office Saturday to oversee the Twitch matches with another person and then left, and he was answering questions on Arturo's stream. On Sunday, he decided out of the blue to answer why he left IPW and why Frame Trap was cancelled (from his own perspective). Haunts made Jared call him while he was streaming Team Tekken's stream, and patched it into the stream audio. Haunts and Jared had a gentlemen's argument, while Aris was cracking on the side. The main conclusion was that Jared thought he was the Arbiter of All Things eSports and how he wanted to make the scene "less real" and "less raw." Aris said some dumb shit too.
Arturo went in on Jared on his own stream later that night, while Haunts was looking on.
The only records left are from the IPW stream and Arturo's stream. Jared deleted his archive after he realized he fucked up. His NeoGAF posts are still up, though.
I understand if your job requires you to talk about some of these things. But Jared sold out hard. It's painfully obvious.
Jared is a good friend of mine and I think he might be in a tough spot, I honestly side on Haunts' side of things as well but hopefully Jared still does good things for the FGC with his job at twitch
