Once you practice plinking, you will plink every Medium in Heavy you use just by muscle memory over time.

Pick Ryu in training mode and practice with:

    Cr.MP > Cr.MP > Cr.FK

So your fingers should end up also pressing LP and MK, even though neither should come out as LP or MK.

Note: I use my ring finger to hit the button I want to come out, and I use my middle finger to plink the weaker button.

I do the same thing for some reason my index finger is too stiff to plink with

I'm understanding that you can't tech a throw after a >4 blockstun move, or after a whiff. Can you tech a throw that is done while you are stunned?

Well, you can't be thrown while you are stunned; your opponent will whiff. If I am reading your sentence correctly.

Hitstun: If you were thrown while in hitstun, it would become a combo, and you can't combo into normal throws

Blockstun: If you were thrown while in blockstun, it would become an unblockable, which doesn't exist this way.

Blockstun: You're doing the throwing while they're in recovery.

Hitstun: I was talking about throwing a person as they whiff a move, not being hit and then thrown.

Then, idk what this guy does then O-O must have perfect stun timing then.

Edit: JK he does it out of focus, that's what I meant. Can you tech that?

Are you talking about :43? If you are, his opponent isn't in hit or block stun. That Ryu in the white just timed the throw perfectly after he recovered from hitstun. Yes, that can be teched.

    I played that guy yesterday.

If you're talking about :52, then no that cannot be teched as his opponent is in crumple state.

Plinking doesn't magically make you land combos consistently, it only adds 1 more frame where are you are able to combo. 1 frame links become 2 frame links, which aren't that much easier. Keep practicing the normal combo timing, then try to plink it. It will help you learn the basics of links and plinks. Also, to leeroy, you can plink LP/LKs if you use the select button as the plink button. Might take some rewiring of your stick but you can do it. I'm pretty sure Sako uses a select button in place of the PPP/KKK buttons.

You can't do this unless you are on the PC version without having extra buttons on your stick (its not in the options on Xbox/PS3 like it is PC).

Sako uses a stick with only 6 buttons. He is just that godlike at execution.

you rewire the buttons on your stick, not through the config. just move/resolder the wire from select button to the other button. Sako demonstrated the select plink on a hori fighting edge video. I'll try to find it but its in japanese with no subtitles iirc.

    Yes, I know that....

It still doesn't change the fact that he uses a 6 button stick at tournaments and is NOT plinking with select. He also does the exact same combos on arcade (all tournament vids from JP minus online Topanga) and his execution is the exact same.

I made a point to watch him in pools at EVO and watch his fingers, trust me LOL. He only used the Hori stick while on stream for sponsor purposes.

Folks really need to go back and watch Sako play some Super Turbo or Vampire Savior and realize he didn't learn fighting games on no PS3.

Obviously he hasn't used selectplinking that much. I never implied Sako isn't godlike. Yes, he uses a 6 button stick at some tournaments. Yes, he has showed he uses select plinking. Yes, Sako is an execution god.

1:45:00 ish he demonstrates select plinking for anyone thats curious. Apparently the fighting edge settings let you set macros for buttons which include select and start. No soldering required. In the video sako is on console showing him plink f.lk after mk tsumuji as well as lp after tsumiji. Select plinking might be tournament banned as far as I know. I don't know if it falls under button macroing outside of the game since console doesn't allow it natively, not to mention its nonexistant on arcade cab.

Plinking wasn't used before it was known about, more at 11.
