Welp, the PS3 ver. is beyond fucked. This 'waiting for other player' window kept popping during matches (my friend has fios and only played locals). Then it'd ff to resync, other times the characters just stood there idle for what it felt like an eternity. I pm'd my friend and he was having the same issues. What a pile of shit. Fucking disappointed dude, Crapcom really dropped the ball.

Trust me, it got way worse with Ultra. Pretty much all the same stuff that people are complaining about on the steam version has been going on since Ultra's release on PS3. Maybe not quite as widespread but definitely common enough to make ranked unplayable.

If I had a bible in front of me I'd swear on it, Super wasn't anywhere THIS horrible. It was super rare for me to have any lag issues, then again I always played local peeps. I was so eager to give it a try after Evo. Godamn it, I hope they patch it soon.

I played Dole on PC version last night for about 2 hours. PC version online (friend invite) feels like the arcade version. There is almost no lag at all. I cannot wait until they get it back to GFWL standards (net code). Everyone really should switch to PC.

Btw new costume packs come with 22 total colors for new outfits. I think you have to unlock 2. I had 22 last night. I actually love Ibuki's new costume <3

The netcode is the same, capcom just fucked something up so the game constantly tries to phone home to authenticate something, while the gameplay pauses to wait for it. That used to only happen before matches and between rounds.

It doesn't seem to happen in private lobbies, only matchmaking.

can definitely vouch for this as i've only ever played on PS3. sure, you have problems with individual connections from time to time, but ultra is on another level. i tried playing again after grabbing the physical release, and every single match i ran into the 'waiting for other player' nonsense. the problem is definitely unique to ultra, i can't recall ever encountering connection behavior like this in any of the prior versions going back to super.

Shinebox/other Ken players, any opinions as to who is a hard counterpick to Ken? He is extremely difficult to deal with as Sakura and I've been gatekept by him for 3 straight tournaments. I was thinking Gief as that would eliminate stepkick/ex.tatsu mixup shenanigans, but I'm not sure if there was just like a totally braindead counter for him.

Ibuki beats him free if she gets a knockdown first. Ken beats Ibuki if he gets it first though! Note: Ibuki can full punish the step kick on block with Ultra 1, yet Kens continue to do it lol.
