I can tell who it is by the taunts lol
Is Ranked on XBL as full of turbo button users as PC is? Some days, I check the replays, and i'd say 8/10 Bisons I play use it, and at least 5/10 Ryus... Blanka is often turbo as well, and surprisingly a lot of players I didn't think were using turbo, had turbo mapped for only for lk/lp.
Ggs callisto I have to go cook
ugggh lol how can a character whiff one of the unsafest moves in his list and still come out with advantage lol...ggs shine
Yeah, I'm working on all the basics still. What you saw last night was the best of what I picked up reading about footsies so far. It's helped a ton with online matches so far.
I think I'm going to try and switch to U1 as my main Ultra just because U2 I tend to throw out randomly or try to punish all of the wrong things with it. It's going to be better for me to learn combos with since it's considered easy to combo into. Right now my combos consist of cLP, cLP, Criminal Upper and cLK, Ruffian Kick.
Any tips for FADCing? I can't get it for the life of me.
FADC is just pure practice. The only real 'tip' I've found for it is you can get an extra bit of frame advantage by buffering the dash, hit forward > forward + mp + mk instead of mp + mk > forward > forward. For some harder combos it's actually required to do this, so it's good to start practicing it.
I never really do a precise FADC motion ;o I do something like...
-> + mp + mk, -> + mp + mk
I saw one video on youtube suggesting this also. It's going to be good because I think you can combo into Cody's U1 from an antiair heavy Ruffian Kick if you FADC it. Also, what's the difference between FADC and the FADC that costs 50% meter?
Right now my favorite combo which I did manage to hit last night was anti air heavy Ruffian into medium Ruffian.
Dunno about these guys, but I just hit MP+MK once and it never fails. The first forward or back of the dash is when I press MP+MK. The second part of the dash is when I am already inputting QCFx2.
Hmm, I used to main Sak in vanilla and it was fairly easy to just dash > U1 well after pressing MP+MK to get it to connect >_> Or at least I thought so.
Doing it too fast was, in fact, the only time I would miss connecting it.
Unless you mean after a crumple, I don't think you can do that after a normal ex cancel, the only things that start up fast enough afaik are 4 frames or less, usually it's dp > fadc > s.hp > tatsu loop. I also almost never use U1 though, I'll try it out.
Nevermind. Answered my own question by watching some Daigo replays. If I'm gonna swap to U1 on Cody I really need to be more conservative on my super meter to save it for the EX cancel.
Cody is so bad broHe is really easy to use though, so learning with him is good.
Meter management is incredibly important. The two biggest things that helped me level up were footsies which you seem to already have a good handle on and not freely tossing out ex moves. Being able to ex-backdash out of unsafe moves, extend combos, hit confirm into supers, or just pocketing meter for an ex reversal when you really need it go really far.
Yeah, I know he's free to a ton of characters but you're right. His execution isn't really high and I want to get the basics down before moving onto a more execution heavy character. In vanilla I jumped straight into the deep end by picking up Viper which didn't really work out for me. Taking it slow this time.
lol when me and Aurara were dicking around I had random'd Cody and derped out a win against his Sak without knowing any strategy, just basic moves. He's free to a lot of chars but his dash kick moves are decent and his ultras do good damage. You should be able to derp out tons of wins online with where you're at now.
I agree until I get more consistent at FADC > hp and uryo your face off, then it's going to be the And1 SF Mixtape tour up in here
