I figured this would be the thread to ask:
I just moved to Santa Clara, CA and I was wondering where some of the best arcades are near here? I only know of Nickel City, a small arcade in SJSU, and Golfland in Sunnyvale. Mostly looking for one that isn't a ghost town, has a decent community for fighting games, and maybe some casual or retro cabinets (but not required) to screw around on.

So, i have a vanilla SF4 cab at work and 2012 at home (PS3, but wireless interwebs, shit suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks hard)

What should I practice at work? I play viper pretty much exclusively at this point (love cammy/dictator/boxer/chunners/gouken but they aren't in the vanilla SF4 cab) so what should I be practicing with Viper at this point? I'm getting my FFF and standing.FFF down at this point but for the most part I roll over all of the scrubs that come into my venue. Most saturdays I get challenged by everyone in my venue for free game-cards but just fucking roll everyone's face with Viper (like seriously P on half of the matches) so I don't know what the practice by myself, I know viper hasn't changed much from vanilla to v.2012 and I plan to keep playing her, but what should I practice while I'm at work and only have access to vanilla? This is more for octo than anyone else since he knows what to practice with Viper! I'm working on my FFF consistency and my feints and SJCs in general but I'd love to have some new things to work on if there are any, also; I'm mostly against the noob as comp the whole time, it's mostly me vs. an enemy who will OCCASIONALLY press one of their buttons but not usually.

Last thing: if anyone is sort of near Ohio and would like to play on PS3 that is my only other option at this point, I'd love to play but 99.99999999% of my matches have some sort of lag and just infuriate me because you CAN NOT play viper with lag of any sort (not that any character is viable with lag, but FFF and any other sort of cancel doesn't work times a million as viper) so i mostly just try for about 10 minutes then ragequit after losses to shit tier Ryu/Ken/xx players.

I'm trying to get out to local tournaments more to get better but god damn it's hard when you work so much! I hope that our BG crew is still rising up! I know Octo/Leisli/DJ/Welt/can't remember your name but you've 40-0'd me before, I'm a wee drunk/ were always super fierce competitors getting better every time I'd play them! If you guys have any vids of you playing (I know richardd had a few of BG inhouses, but I never played you richardd!) I'd love to watch them! The competition on here is mad fierece, for all the competitors I get that come into my venue I'll honestly fucking roll 99.99% of them due to playing you guys so much!

Ramor, we haven't played in a while, but I'd suggest:

- After FFF, practice SJC dash -> sweep for the knockdown. I know you can do burn kick for the damage but the knockdown is nice. You can also practice the SJC dash -> ultra after ex seismo.
- Safe jump set ups are always good to practice against noobs, especially against DP happy players.
- Practice footsies. Viper normals are almost non-existent, but Viper players mostly just ignore this part of the game. Try to win without gimmicks and cross up spams.

Uhg. I got so salty the other night while playing. Cody vs. Cody mirror match and the guy was way better than his BP indicated. Was nailing me with cross ups and all sorts of tricks. Was super frustrating. Only took one round out of the two games he challenged me to.

I think as you get better in this game, you start to lose more often when the connection is bad. Bad connections heavily favors mashers. I lose to a 2k Cammy with 1k pp and a Sagat who was the very much the definition of a scrub (knew how to FADC one combo, burned meter but couldn't block cross up tatsus for shit) I must have eaten 20 hard attacks during those two matches because I was attempting to do something stupid like use a hit confirm (cr.LK) to start a combo in a connection that showed Green but played like Orange
