    FACT: I am a gullible idiot: Queen of England Dead?

    Received a couple e-mails from some friends of friends that the Queen died about 2 hours ago and that there is currently a news embargo until 9am tomorrow.

    One Email I got -

    FACT: Today at 1837 BST, Mr Justice Tugendhat laid down a super injunction with a global reach against any reporting regarding the health and wellbeing of a certain senior member of the Royal family. For the last few hours a media coalition represented by Gillian Phillips of the Guardian has tried to lift the ruling, to no avail. It will remain in force until 0900 tomorrow, when an announcement will be made by her Majesty's office. You read it here first, folks.


    Comms assistant for small london council here. We have an embargoed press release that only the head of the council has been allowed to see, but the emails saying "please see attached for council's comment on this story of national interest" are already written. I've been asked to attend a meeting at 6:30 tomorrow morning to release it.
    Anyone else heard or seen anything?

    If anything like this was happening, that the media can't make any inquires about the welfare of a elderly senior member of the royal family........... then it would be all over US media outlets.

    As they do not have to follow said injunctions.

    I'd be surprised if her death was actually able to be kept with a 'news embargo'. I guess the fact that it's night might make it difficult for anything to be said, but it seems like this would leak relatively quickly by some major news source.

    Search twitter for "queen" currently comes up 50% about J.K Rowling, 45% random use of the word Queen, 3% about some shitty pop stars (Lady Gaga/Madonna), 1% random shitty inspirational quotes and like 1% about her possibility dying. I'd hardly say that's a noticeable amount when there's a possible chain letter going around.
