Bumping, grandma is willing to help with a new bike with her tax monies.

I have a vintage frame now that I got for rather cheap (free actually), but it doesn't shift, so looking to make it my back up bike and getting a new primary bike.

Any opinions on Cannondale multisport 800?
    Spoiler: show

What I don't get is, with your situation don't you get financial aid? That's like 2-3k a semester in your pocket.

Food stamps are harder to get than financial aid.

I recently donated a bike that I found to a salvage shop. It had been sitting on the side of a road I walk to class every day for a good week, so I figured nobody wanted it. It had a major blowout (oh man, it was epic and I wish I had taken a picture), and the frame was cracked around the seat, but it was still probably "CS-ride-able" once the blowout was fixed. It didn't even look like the tube had been punctured, so it could probably have been fixed given time/patients (neither of which I have). But yeah, finding it made me think of you, CS

lol seriously... I envy your simple life. It's like a ghetto big lebowski, with bikes instead of carpets.

That bike looks a solid purchase, but I don't know, unless the roads over there are pretty good. You're probably better off with a city bike or a mountain one with road tires.

Damn you sure come across a lot of nicer vintage c'dales...pick that one up, I'm assuming it's stupid cheap. It will also be easy to get replacement parts for it, unlike the other bikes.

The fuck? $100.98 per credit hour in Tampa, FL. That's at community college, too.

CA's community college credits have always been incredibly cheap. Back in 2000~2001, I was paying about $14/credit. It's been slowly crawling upwards since then since schools in general across the state have been getting hosed.

It's still cheap as shit, but it also has the effect of every class being filled with people who don't actually care to be there, but they are there because it's dirt cheap and they need whatever units. Makes for some fucking terrible classes, especially when you work in groups and/or have to critique design/photo/art work. Unbearably bad.

On topic: Busted up bikes I come across also make me think of CS, lol.

I've been riding road bikes for a few maybe a year and a half now, haven't had any problems in my area.

I've had a hybrid before, prefer the road bike. Just gets around faster.

It's not all that cheap :/ fuckin 300, but anything 200 or lower these days is all steel, early 90's or older. Want something aluminum at least.

    Very shitty selection here -.-

The red one on the other page for 150 was def a one time thing and that guy said his ad was up for less a few hours before he had someone buy it.

Edit: this one is roughly the same price

What makes you prefer aluminum? Stairs/hills? Steel rides so much smoother... but I live on the 3rd floor and on a hill now so I'm kinda' reconsidering.
