Well I wasn't entirely sure they were gonna do DX11, but I did say kuro, if they were doing it, it would be later~!

Guess its not too bad it's held back a bit, since I still need to upgrade my PC come this 2012 Q1-2 with all the new video cards/cpu's/motherboards etc coming out.

Or in WoW need and greed is only used for dungeons, not raids. Raids are turned into master looter and handed out based on the guild's individual loot system. Something is wrong with your officers if they won't give you gear for your main since you're on a different job.

Still, especially with dungeon finder around, knowing that coming as any other job will make you vulnerable while the idea of reputation is pretty much nonexistant isn't exactly a good thing.

It should really for random dungeon finder groups, just be a free lot if you have the necessary level on any job to equip the item. If no one does, or if all those in question pass, anyone can then lot.

For player formed parties, it could default to this system with various other options.

I wish you guys would have asked the tetra master question. Alas, I will resort to spamming the official forums more until an official response is given.

Judging from the full audio footage (I have a copy of it), they asked that the rest of the questions be sent in and they would return with answers. So you may get your answer yet.

Anyway, knowing that some of the things they're working on will be going to dumpster once they move over makes me warm up to the sub fee, since basically it's either that or most likely having to ignore the early build for the upcoming year for the most part while they work on the new build, only updating the current game with stuff that will be moved over.

Maybe they could have decided to do the other option instead, but I don't think it's too unreasonable trade-off for those liking the game and willing to pay the fee.

    Just my opinion tho.

Also it's funny how they're basically acting like the current version is trash. Even if it's true, thats still blunt as hell coming from the company who made the damn thing.
    from the jp interview:
FFXIV is finally starting to shape-up into a playable MMORPG, but for the people who know nothing about FFXIV except for the failed launch might look at people are who are playing the game now and say: "What, you're still playing that shitty game?" When us, the Dev team, hear such comments, we can't say anything back as it was our sole responsibility for releasing the game in that state. However, this doesn't hold true for the players who play this game as they hold not responsibility for the state of the game. To be blamed for something they have no control over is something that pains me greatly.
    I hope that's a free translation, LOL.

Nope, it's good. Did they really say "What, you're still playing that shitty game?" though? That made me laugh.

    Pretty much, yes.

I mean, they didn't literally say shitty, but it was implied in the sense that the game was terribad.

Just thought it was natural to be translated that way. =P

I can't help theres still going to be lots of skeptics out there, was talking to a few buddies who quit @ launch who still aren't convinced that half of that stuff is going to make it, still skeptical about the whole thing. Will Yoshi-P be able to restore those people's faith(there is a shit-ton) of them out there who will need to see it to believe it in order to get them back.

I hope there will be. They don't deserve for all this to be taken at face value, even if Yoshida is not the culprit he's still the face of "SE" here. They really need to make the product good, but that should hopefully do it.

Not that what they've been doing the past week is bad, but it's still fluff when compared to what they need to do pretty much.

Good stuff guys. Though I gotta say I don't think a need greed lot system would be a great fit for the game, you know with being able to change jobs and all. It makes sense for WoW on a bunch of levels, but I think I'd be happy with a standard lot system. A built in point system for linkshells would also be interesting, or one that records all the events you and your linkshell does on the lodestone so participation can be accurately measured. Also an orderboard for linkshell crafters would be very cool. being able to put up a work order and have a mate make it for you when you're offline would be a nice surprise.

A feature like this really ought to be implemented beyond just Linkshells/Free Companies. What will all the constant yammering about how they want crafters, gatherers and combat classes to work together. If I could form contracts with a gatherer to provide me with all the <insert ore here> I need, they'd get a guaranteed sell at a set price, and I'd get the amount of ore I need at a steady rate. Player created quests essentially, contracts like this should make it in at some point unless they decide to scale back gathering and crafting even more.

I so want a need/greed system, but hopefully on 3 tiers. Starting with the job/class you are currently on you can need it - roll against others who are also on the same job/class. Then 2nd tier (if you are not on the class/job but have it leveled) you have priority to greed it over someone who doesn't have it leveled, but intends to. Then of course 3rd, anyone can lot.

I'd also like a personal loot system to where if you get something you probably do not want or need you can always transfer it to someone nearby before it is accepted/ falls into your inventory

I think he can, if only because he wants to so badly. On the flip side of your experience, I've had at least a half dozen lsmates who quit a month after launch coming back after 1.19 hit and are really impressed with the strides that have been made. He's already changed some minds, so if 1.20 is even half the patch 1.19 was, who knows what will happen. That's not to say of course they're the miracle patches to save the game, but they're pretty good steps (dare I say leaps) in the right direction.

I also personally think that game sites will almost WANT to review when the PS3 version hits partly due to the publicity the new E3 trailer will garner them, and the fact that they're gonna have this morbid curiosity/desire to want to review the game into the ground again. I for one hope that Yoshida can make them eat their words.

This interview was amazing. The questions asked were great and the answers given were solid. Great job. Yoshi-P is so cool.

I'm sceptical but everytime Yoshi pulls out these stunts, I get some faith back hah. Good job with the interview.
