In-N-Out only shines in the realm of fast food joints (mcdonald's/burger king/wendy's/jack in the box/etc.) where it most definitely is one of the best (they lightly toast their buns!). Other than that, it only has high tourist appeal because of its cliche` old-fashioned, So-Cal, beach-town, hot-rod, juvenile, drive-thru, hangout styling and simplicity. Thus it's constantly full and crowded with annoying kids/morons no matter where you are.

On topic: I don't usually care about Disneyland at all, but you do need to go to Disneyland if their Halloween setup is in full swing. The Haunted Mansion gets a full Nightmare Before Christmas makeover around this time.

If you're looking for a really good gourmet burger in Los Angeles, I'd recommend a place called The Golden State. Burgers are amazing and they usually have some really great beers on tap. It's in the jewish part of LA.

Also new to California Adventure (Disney's smaller theme park across the way) is World of Color. Puts the Bellagio water fountain shows to complete shame. Also they revamped Star Tours.

If all else fails, go yelp.com some food places. There is sure to be some good stuff in K-town, Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. I'm not the best person to ask about local food. I live in the porn capital of the world that's devoid of anything fun that isn't porn.

I was born and raised in CA and live out of state now, and first thing otw back home from the airport is always In-N-Out. Five Guys isn't that special imo. Fatburger is good, but it just feels like a more expensive Carl's Jr. burger to me.

If you're looking for more SC2 stuff, White-ra is having some kind of product release party with tT esports down in Buena Park on Sunday:

Good chance for what I'd imagine will be a bit more personal and smaller environment than the clusterfuck that is Blizzcon. Plus it's got white-ra and maybe some free shit.

For entertainment, I think I prefer Knott's over Disneyland. It's cheaper and has better, or at least more roller coasters. Disneyland's got a unique atmosphere, but once you get over that after a visit (or if you live down here, more than a couple), I've always preferred sticking primarily to the coasters anyways (ie space mountain). Medieval times or the pirate place are decent too. If you are a bit more aimless or want to explore random shopping, look up the Gardenwalk in Anaheim, Spectrum in irvine, or the Block in orange.

For food, In N'Out's an obvious choice (particularly if you are from out of state / country). I agree with some others in the thread though, it's great but mainly compared to other fast foods (even then, I've always thought their fries were garbage on their own). I wouldn't put it in a class with proper sit-downs. Personally, my favorite burger would probably just be a Red Robin burger, and they've got bottomless amazing fries as well (they also have a location pretty near the Convention center).

I'll echo the Yard House suggestions as well though. I love their food (their bacon mac n' cheese is so fucking good, as is thai pizza) and they have a shitload of different beers. The one is brea should be closest to the venue, and that's probably about 10-12 miles? Coincidentally, I think the last time I ate there (and remember the night) was last Blizzcon. I really have to go there again

I find it funny how everyone holds In N Out in such high regard. Get that unbeatable cali weed first, then hit up In and Out.

I have a choice to walk/bus 3 miles for a In N' Out burger or drive 20 miles for a Five Guys. I'm usually doing my driving.

Port's-O-Call is neat in it's own way. Only thing we have going in San Pedro though. I can't think of many other things than the usual bullshit my friends and I do at Abalone Cove.

Is it worth checking out because of the hype? Yeah, sure.

Five Guys fucking sucks anywhere but the south east.

As a Georgian who goes to Fresno and the Lake Forest/Irvine area a few of times a year, I have to say that I'm neither impressed nor un-impressed by In 'n Out. I'd eat it if it was available but I'm not going to go out of my way.

Also, echoing the statement about the best Five Guys being in the southeast especially the one in Melbourne, Florida.
