As an addition to what Mafai said, instead of setting an IP address for the PS3 in the middle of the range, you can check to see what address the router will assign automatically under the DHCP settings. My Linksys routers by default hand out address from .100 to .254, so I usually set my static IP address from .2 to .99. The chances of a conflict occurring are nonexistant, but it prevents it in any case.
Another thing you could check is if your router has Universal Plug-n-play. The PS3 should pick that up automatically, but I know I was having trouble with it until I rebooted the router.
