Finally trying to work my way back into tekken and blazblue and looking to pick up a good arcade stick. The hori pro is a little outta price range ATM (having to replace a lot of shit on my car). Any other good suggestions?
PS3 btw

I have the RAP3 by Hori. Way better than the Tekken Wireless one which was my first. Tried the old cheap TE stick. Was garbage. I've yet to try any of the new Madcatz TE, but the Qanba is one I'm lookin to try.
www.eightarc.com seems to be pretty cool, otherwise it's a hori/TE. The newest TE's are pretty good quality. Razer's coming out with a stick sometime in the future as well.
Yeah I had the tekken stick and hated it, I may look at the new TEs, just never a huge fan of madcatz. May just buy the wired hori stick
never get a wireless stick :[
Well yeah, it was my first stick and it came with Tekken 5. I just knew Hori made awesome sticks from what I heard. But you get what you pay for as with anything. But yeah, I'm not a Madcatz fan, no matter how much Mike Ross tells me it rocks. I'll check out the eightarc. I need a stick that gets my moves out better. Maybe I need a different plate.
Get a se stick and mod it with sanwa parts.
Alternatively just get a te stick, i think theyre cheaper then buying a se stick and modding it nowadays. I modded my se stick and never have problems.
Nvm after looking at all the choices yall gave me, Im liking the eightarcs.
Makes me sadCheapest TE on amazon uk is equivalent of $220, makes me feel really ripped off when you can get 20% off during majors in the US and makes it <$100, which is like £60.
Not like the sticks brand matters anyways when everything inside is sanwa.
yeah, just look for stock sanwa parts to narrow down the choices. after that, the only real considerations are price and aesthetics (and button layout to a lesser extent, but most sticks are pretty similar in that regard). personally, i find the TE's to be pretty gaudy so i went with the hori SA, but as long as you're getting sanwa/seimetsu it's pretty much impossible to go wrong.
Nothing wrong with a modded SE, it's literally the exact same hardware as a TE, the difference comes down to if you want/need a larger surface area to rest your hands on and if you can get a SE/Brawlstick for the gamestop price or less.
That said, if I would have had enough cash for a TE when I was originally stick shopping I would have bought one, and for a first-time buyer I'd still recommend the TE since SE supplies are low and you'll probably only end up saving like $15 to do a modded Brawlstick. Doing so is still a decent idea though, if nothing else just to get familiar with the insides for a future mod.
edit: one thing I did forget about Brawlsticks that is really the only main downside, they don't fit most of the toodles/phreakazoid dualmod chips. You'll want a TE/SE for that.
also this is worth looking at, for the price it's already dual-system/PC: http://etokki.com/Omni-Sanwa-Edition
Good news for anyone that doesn't have a stick alread, cross-posted from SRK:
DING DONG HERE. WE HAVE A BIG DEAL!
The madcatz brawl stick is only 29.99 at gamestop. it is oos online but it is 29.99 in store as well and you can use in store pick up. I hope to share this with the fighting game community and not eBay hoarders.

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum and please feel free to delete or move it!
If you have been looking for a starter stick, I highly recommend jumping on this. If you grab one of these and buy Sanwa parts to replace the stock ones, you can have a stick with TE-quality hardware for $95 total.
Also, if you're looking for a cheap case to gut and completely rebuild, the TvC stick just dropped to $20 at GS a few days ago. Obviously won't do you much good unless you've got a PCB to throw in there as well, but it's another option.
I have a wired HRAP for PS3 with sanwa buttons and sanwa stick installed for sale if you want to buy it. I'll sell it for less than what they go for, but you pay shipping.
