San Andrea's was an amazing title, there was a lot of depth to the game play, and I was hoping to see all that transition into 4 :/ but sadly it did not, I hope they eventually bring back the personal fitness and skill levels with everything you can do, it's neat having personal character development that can actually change the game play experience.

I thought that aspect of it was boring lol. Don't really care for RPG-esque character stats in a GTA game.

I loved the RPG-style character development like lung capacity, stamina, etc. because it's progress you're rewarded by playing normally, eventually capping out and staying there. I just hated things like keeping up on relationships and the fat/muscle crap. That stuff was borderline sim and deteriorated when you were busy crashing cars and blowing shit up mindlessly... which you should always be rewarded for doing.

Trevor looks like a fucking riot, Franklin's path looks like it will be a bore, Mike is very GTA-esque stuff. I could care less about the graphics, it's basically reaching the point where it stops adding to the depth, especially if it's all filler/landscape. Although, they COULD add some polish to the strippers and upgrade the PS2-era blocky asses that never seem to go away no matter how good graphics look in games lol

Storytelling looks good so far, hope the majority of the dev time is spent on crafting likeable characters and writing. I'm sure they'll also put in an endless amount of side-questing/collectables/achievements.

I know this is the GTA 5 thread, but I picked up the GTA series for 12 bucks during the steam sale this last weekend. I've never bothered to play a GTA game before, so I'm looking for suggestions on a starting point. Otherwise I'll probably just start at 1 and go from there.

I just hope they go back to the more arcade-y car handling instead of the realism in GTA4
