Rumor: PC pre-orders begin on Friday

Gamereactor has learnt that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is about to go on pre-order.

Nordic retailer Elgiganten (owned by Dixons Retail UK) will start taking orders for Grand Theft Auto V on PC this Friday, which has been confirmed to us via a manager of one of the Swedish stores.

While there's been no official confirmation of the game arriving on PC, and there's nothing yet regarding the pre-orders in the UK, the fact that Swedish gamers will be able to reserve their copy of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is a good indication that it's on its way.

Evidence of a PC port of GTA V has been building of late, with bug reports listing PC related issues with earlier builds, and listings at various online retailers also surfacing.

We've reached out to Rockstar for comment on the matter, and will update the story if we get anything back.

Hmm just picked it up for PS4 last night, though didn't know it was this close to PC release....maybe i'll return the console version and wait a bit. Then again....I have no reason to use my PS3 w/o this game currently.

The Worten listing doesn’t come with a release date, but Eurogamer.pt contacted them to clarify the matter. They received a Google-translated reply that reads, “We would inform you that we have the information that Worten stores will sell the game in question.”

During the quarterly earning meeting, Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar Games, confirmed that Rockstar is working on a next-gen project (PS4, Xbox One) and that it’s schedule to release this fiscal year.

No details were given as to what this project is, but we are assuming it’s a next-gen port of GTA 5 that has been rumored for quite some time now.

I purposely never picked GTA V up because of the inevitable PC/Ps4 release. Granted i thought it'd be out sooner, but still. Day 1.

Friend of mine that works at GameStop says GTA V will be available for pre-order on PS4 and XBone Tuesday after E3 announcement. I figured that would be the case.

I was hoping for PC release, but I think PS4 would be better. PC version will probably be just a shit console port. Devs generally don't fuck up console versions of games like they do PC.
