Relic vs Empyrean Question:
Because of the 1500 Heavy Metal Plates required, I'm doubtful that more than one of my Empyreans will ever see Lv95. Relics don't seem to have that same problem.

Knowing that... Do most Lv95 Relics beat their Lv90 Empyrean counterpart?

What about Lv95 Relic vs Lv95 Empy on those three? Are any of the Empyreans clear winners when levels are the same? I haven't decided which (if any) Empy to upgrade yet.

Really overdoing it. Any DD with a PDT set can supertank adds, and your DD don't need to build TP on adds at all. Just melee the NM. SAM supertank(seigan) works best, then a PLD a mage and 2 DD and it dies within a few minutes. Only one that can become slightly dangerous if you kill too slow is the troll, as he his the Bad breath like move <25%.

How is adding a BRD to your setup "Really overdoing it" x.x Also, the bad breath move is only dangerous if you have a bunch of unnecessary people in range to eat it, and Mamool's Mijin Gakuure can still 1shot people without 1500+ HP. Like I said, much easier than before, but given the time/resources/randomness inherent to each attempt, best not to underestimate them.

Can someone clue me in on how best to proc blue as a BST? Was trying last night with axe (slashing) on NMs engaged 14:00-22:00 as per OtherWiki suggestions, and no luck. Wiki says I can only use Mistral Axe or Decimation?

Any info welcome - I just got back a month ago and understand yellow proc but this one seems very vague. Thanks!

I thought I asked this, but searched and couldn't see it.
Is it true the 2nd hit of Refulgent Arrow has the same ftp as the innitial hit? (sauce: bgwiki) and is it true that the FTP is 3.00/4.25/5.00 (sauce: otherwiki)?

Because if both of those are true then shouldn't Refulgent Arrow always be better than Sidewinder? At 100%TP you're looking at 6.00FTP vs 5.00FTP with the same WSC (If Refulgent is 16%STR/25%AGI like sidewinder) and the same gear (Refulgent may even use more str/ratt over racc as you'll want to be 95% hit rate for both (ranged ws dont seem to have the huge acc boost on the innitial hit like melee WS) and slug has an acc penalty).

If it really is 3.00 on both hits at 100%TP, I couldn't see any reason to use Sidewinder. I just post this because I always see people comparing the new WS to Sidewinder or Sidewinder/Refulgent, as if Refulgent is a sidegrade to Sidewinder, but I'm not sure I'd call +1.00 FTP a sidegrade.

Also, how would Refulgent spam with a 100TP bonus Magian Bow do on hard content (where Jishnu's doesn't so so well)? Because at 200%TP you'd be looking at 8.5FTP...

Edit: Also otherwiki says Studio Gobli thinks it has a 60%STR WSC and not 16%STR/25%AGI, which would tip things even further in Refulgent's favour if that's true (no source link on article).

While I don't have any specific testing to back it up I think every rng can tell you that no reflugent doesn't have 6-10 ftp. Guess I'll play with it a little later but from what I remember 200% seemed to be about the dmg of a sidewinder which kinda suggests no 2nd hit anyways. Pretty sure my tp return was the same as sidewinder. Also there is the curious lack of the whole ammunition provided text that last stand/jishnu's has. Can a ranged ws actually have more than 1 hit and use 1 ammo?

Anyways a ftp of 10 (10.4 with gorget/belt) with 60% str mod would easily make it the best ws. I mean we are talking about consistent 9k ws outside of abyssea if you get capped pdif

Actually it says you can use Spiral Hell and vorpal blade (with right subjob). Better proc job would be your best bet. Actually you might have more procs during blunt sadly lol.

It's not really vague. Depending on the time of day you have 15 possible ws that it can randomly be for proc. Just like based on day of week you have a whole bunch of spells it could be for yellow.

Blue proc for an NM is a particular WS, just like yellow procs are a particular spell. The time of day narrows down what category of weapon it will be (blunt/slashing/piercing), just like the current day narrows down spell element. If you tried Mistral Axe and Decimation, and neither triggered, then it's not Axe. Like any other Abyssea procs, the best way to do it is to have as many available as you can. As a BST, you could also have Spiral Hell available, but that's it for slashing (outside of select subs). Depending on the NM, you could deaggro it and try again in hopes of the blue trigger being something you have. Otherwise, hope you luck out...or bring other people. MNK + WHM can cover all of blunt.

Thanks for the replies. I can easily solo the NM in just a few minutes and Dipper brings TH3, so I guess I can either take a sword, dagger and club along or just bring some friends. Scythe would need skilling although I do have a BZ lying around from a long time ago so that might help.

I did get a few drops already, just not the one I'm after and weighting the odds sounds like a good idea.

Apocalytipic Beast was a joke for Bst solo (sadly). I’m not sure how his 2 hr system works though. Does killing the NMs block specific 2hrs or is getting the cage item the only way to block them? Regardless, I got all the items except the Cage. I did kill about 6 NMs before hand to try and get the cage item, but eventually I said F-It, let’s see what happens. IIRC the only 2hr I saw was Mighty Strikes before I killed it.

Christelle is Bst duoable. Possibly soloable if you pop with a pet and call Beast is ready. Yesterday was my first time fighting it…ever. I had a little difficulty getting off all 3 items in range but I was able to use them. We did however have Proct/shell from a friendly nearby whm…which may have helped. I wanna say around 50% it did Extremely Bad Breath killing both pets and I had to kite it for maybe a minute. Had pretty bad accuracy, could barely hit me, although his (her?) TP moves made up for that.

You need to buy a second copy of the game for the codes. Abyssea Edition is on Amazon's download service for $9.99 (here). You don't actually need to download it to get the code.

No need to link it to your same SE account. Main reason I could see for doing so would be if you have a token you want to use (for a satchel, if nothing else).

-What kind of hit build should I be going for with SAM? 4-hit? 5-hit? 6-hit? Will have Masamune shortly so assume 437 delay GK.
-How much STP do I need in gear to make a 4-hit, 5-hit, 6-hit build?
-Have merits changed around any? I have 5/5 STP, 5/5 Meditate, 5/5 Blade Bash, 5/5 Overwhelm.
-What are "perfect" tp sets looking like now for the above builds?

I don't think so, but I have no experience with that situation. I put my mule on a second SE account in the event that I wanted to let someone else log into it.

you can have up to 10 accounts on your token i believe, if thats your concern. i have a 2 box and both are on my token and both get a satchel

If you have de-activated your token and later add a 2nd account, the account still gets mog satchel. Both my characters have satchel and I ditched the token years ago.

Need people to hold your hand through everything? Do some damn research. It's not hard.
