When SE changed skillup caps by mob levels (ability to cap a 95 weapon off a 90 or whatever mob), did anyone figure out how many levels lower than yours you can go before the mob stops giving skillups, presuming to cap?

simpler version: if I want to cap a 99 weapon, whats the lowest lvl mob that will get me to cap?

No one has done anything formal (afaik), but I have observed that you can cap on a monster about 5 levels below you. So 94~95 (max level Scars mobs?) would be fine.

Can someone clue me in on how best to proc blue as a BST? Was trying last night with axe (slashing) on NMs engaged 14:00-22:00 as per OtherWiki suggestions, and no luck. Wiki says I can only use Mistral Axe or Decimation?

Any info welcome - I just got back a month ago and understand yellow proc but this one seems very vague. Thanks!

Blue procs are specific weaponskills which change depending on the time of day. So between 22:00 and 06:00 it's Blunt, then 06:00 and 14:00 it's piercing and after that as you know it's Slashing. It will be one particular ws and may not be one you have. So during slashing it could be any of those below. BST only get access to Axe, Scythe, Club, Dagger and Sword but you may not have access to the ws because you can't quest em or they're job restricted.

14:00 - 22:00 - Slashing

Sword: Vorpal Blade (200), Swift Blade (225), Savage Blade (240)
Great Sword: Spinning Slash (225), Ground Strike (250)
Axe: Mistral Axe (225), Decimation (240)
G.axe: Full Break (225), Steel Cyclone (240)
Scythe: Cross Reaper (225), Spiral Hell (240)
Katana: Blade: Ten (225), Blade: Ku (250)
GKT: Tachi: Gekko (225), Tachi: Kasha (250)

Basically if it's your weapon (axe or scythe) it'll be one of the above listed WS. I don't think you can get any of the sword ones even though BST has low rank in sword. After slashing is blunt and after that is piercing. BST isn't a great job for procing on but I guess if soloing it's worth trying the axe and scythe skills you have access to.

You could try to deaggro and reset the NM to see if it will change a blue proc to something you have. WAR, PLD and MNK all have a natural advantage for sets of Blue procs.

Anyone hammered out a solid start to farming Dynamis Bastok? Some of the TEs are giant bitches to deal with as a solo dancer, particularly I cant seem to get it without aggroing the dark knight and black mage that wander right next to him.

you have several options here.

-if your looking for bills, go solo glacier and kill quads there, or hit a dreamzone

-if your looking for nq relic armor, either kill mobs for little/no currency for an hour with no TEs and hope it drops, or find out which dreamzone it drops in and go there

- if your looking for forgotten items, find which dreamzone they drop in and go there

- if you need the bastok win, get a few buds, kill a nm for the mega pop, and proceed to smoosh mega (hes real easy, and the bastok mega doesn't cast death i believe, but you could stun it anyway if it does). if you can find a nm and solo it, mega is easy to solo.

- if your goal isn't mentioned above, still try to find another zone where you can accomplish it


Sadly, the only real way to solo bastok would involve a job that can nuke the stats down quickly, or a bst. you'll still end up sac killing a few of them. and then, sadly, you'll be SOL since nuking jobs can't really accomplish much solo in dyna. and as bst, you're limited to ja proc mobs, and you'd do waaaay better in ice/dreamzones. unless you need the win for ice access, your best off avoiding city zones if at all possible.

So I was doing axe trials / generally tooling around on my BST this morning in E Altep and picked up Centurio XII-I on widescan, and one Dipper later he dropped Intruder Earring.

I wanted this for my DRK back in 2006 and am glad to have it for the nostalgia if nothing else, but is it actually useful anymore? I haven't even attempted to level a tank or my DRK in literally years.

That's the alchemy guild one right? I duoed that zone the other week and the only way I was able to drop that statue without a link was to sekka 2 WS'es when they were out of link range and resneak really quick. But that isn't much help to you really.

STR and PDT are the most useful, and maybe EVA if you're into sort of thing on BLU. If you're casting nukes outside of procs, you're generally using staves, so I don't see much use for the MAB sword.

A bunch of sam questions:

1. How exactly does zanshin work with seigan/hasso now, and does it scale with zanshin from gear/merits? I can't imagine 1% zanshin turns into 1% DA/counter...

2. What are the best use of self SC/2hr with shoha (without emp/relic)? Is rana necessary?

3. Does the seigan bonus on relic pants require that they stay equipped?

4. Best atma setup post shoha? VV/apoc/smiting blow?

5. How big of an increase is the 25 TP bonus moonshade with shoha?

6. Does that VW all stats gkt give a TP bonus, or was that just a rumor?

Friend 2: RDM SMN PUP DNC WHM COR. Mainly uses WHM and DNC, both pretty well geared, RDM and PUP mostly abandoned, @90 or maybe 85.
Me: SCH PUP WAR. All three well geared, but SCH and PUP really good.

will be fine. If you're not super aggressive with pulls (linking 5+ constantly) I'm sure BRD/WHM would be sufficient healing.

Embrava makes you a wrecking machine for things like SSR F4 and Arra F6, but you need SJ earlier to get haste access (and JA if /rdm to get erase, -na) so it's harder to work with in arra. Phalanx+Regen5 make it nearly impossible to be killed.

THF DNC SCH is fine, can /WAR on both melee easily, but salvage is *really* easy at 99, talking "every mob killed, inc boss, for potential alex with 30mins to spare as mnk/thf 2boxed rdm/sch" easy. Go as jobs you have fun on, long as 1 has haste and 1 is thf.

Stormsurge 5/5, and Enlightment 5/5. Stormsurge is nice but not relevant, unlocking Enlightment is very hand for applying RR in DA or an occasional Erase/-na. After the change in merits that just reduced recast duration with further upgrades, I don't know what use will have having Enlightment at 5/5, it will depend on the new boost from extra merits (and Relic +2). The merit-specific stratagems are crap since they consume 2 charges, but some people back at 75 just unlocked Enlightment, and then did 4/5 Focalization for 2H use. Depending again on the boost the merit Strats get from Relic +2, they could be worth spending points into, too.

So previously I was using g15r2binder since the keyboard I was using had 6 g-keys (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G15-G...7&sr=8-1-spell), so I was recommended that plugin. I recently bought a G510 keyboard for more g-keys (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823126100) and am now using the g15binder plugin instead. Now when I load the .txt up, nothing I previously use works. Can anyone help?

Look up XI-Util; it offers G510 support.

If XI-Util crashes on you, try setting compatibility mode for Windows 7 (if you're using Windows 7). Additionally, once it's running, don't minimize it--just leave the window up in the background.
