    Ah so "alpha" is just a level correction thing. We generally tend to cite the un-corrected base WSC in dicussion, but in reality and on the merit list it uses the corrected value. That sum it up?

    Basically yes. Though I believe when calculated it is floored before applying the alpha so could lead to slightly different numbers

    edit: Beursault +1 or Shigeto +1 is all I can find, unless I'm missing something.

    No one is really sure about Afteglow yet. The weapons in the dats seem to have the ability to have a glow affect, but the trials are not in the game yet to know if it is anything but a cosmetic effect.

    Magic not sure... usually pretty easy or damn near impossible to land enfeebles on the other hand I think alot of songs can be capped without now. Attributes wont make a huge difference in the end. But I'd do mnd just because it does more. From macc on some spells to more hp cured to potency of slow and such.

    thf kinda depends. Aura steal is really nice alot of the time (useless otherwise lol) and I think the augment lets you steal more than 1. Feint has it's uses too though given how fast it decays and how long recast is even with full merits most useful in specific fights not long term events. I think I did 4/5 AC 1 feint and 5 aura steal. Should have at least 1 in aura steal for dispeling stuff randomly 5 is just nice if you want to get the buffs of what you fighting.

    Blu... that's really vague um would kinda visit the blu thread maybe unless you have something more specific in mind. Or did you just mean what merits to put into it?

    I have a 75 fishing mule without abyssea and no VW started. Is there a decent GoV I can dual box him 20kish EXP with?

    dual box, ehh maybe but it's honestly better to go to a popular spot like bostaunieux, full of people doing exactly what you're doing, for their mules

    sure you could run around and cleave stuff but 8+ 95-99s with their alts on follow should do better than a duo


    it's not the xp per mob that adds up, it's the pages completed -- plus the xp continues when you take a break :D

    that or decide on an item that you want from one of the areas' chests and maybe you'll do 2 birds with one stone

    Good point, I wasn't sure if exp gimped to all hell at 75 or not page wise, I've never done a page beyond 30 there. Thank you.

    the xp adds up depressingly fast (especially if you're after a drop from a brown chest)

    20k is nothing at all once you cap xp per page


    if you want the skillup earring from sky you'll be wasting merits in no time!

    Mathematically speaking, should a THF ever be out DDing a SAM, DRK or DRG? (outside of abyssea, VW, etc)

    For thf/nin, no. For thf/war, maybe (except for sam, which at the moment has a pretty hefty lead over the others). Depends on a huge number of factors, though. Could also maybe get within spitting distance of war (post-Ukko nerf).

    bleh, checked the mathy redux section and the ffxi dev page for implemented and in development and I cannot seem to find any info about the cure cast time -20% cap being removed

    am I mistaken? is it fast cast that there is now no cap to? someone mentioned something in LS within the last week, and I'm debating aceso's locket and cure clogs for whm alt

    Thanks for your response, it was most helpful! And yes, I was referring specifically to BLU merits (sorry, thought that was implied by the "merit questions" part at the top).
