Back when I looked into this, I seem to remember there being only 4 "good" pieces.
1. WHM Body (Cure Potency/Refresh)
2. DRG Legs (4% Haste)
3. PLD Body (Fast Cast)
4. RNG/COR Body (Snapshot)

Another good option is Bellicus Cuisses for WAR. They can get Crit. Rate +3 WSD +2. Plus, I would consider the WHM body a waste of time now. There is no reason why you wouldn't be using your Orison Bliaud +2.

Bellicus Cuisses are pretty far from the best outside Abyssea. Inside I think they remain new the top.

Well, Apex Arrow, Last Stand, Exenterator, Blade: Shun, Tachi: Shoha, Resolution, Upheaval and Stardiver are all pretty good.

Don't know if anyone else is super-gimp like me (just came back after 2+ year break), but my newbie MNK doesn't have Ascetics or Smite. Shijin Spiral is so much better than Asuran it's crazy. It started being "similar" at 2/5, and just got better as you get to cap.

My whm is just a mule and I'm not spending much time getting it's cure potency capped or going out of my way to get it stuff like af3+2....

There are plenty of very "good" peices from trophies. Just not always the best in slot

Have masa/kannagi and will have vere/ukon soonish, which merit WS should i unlock, have Ruinator 5/5 already, not sure if i should bother w/ shoha even w/ a Masa, i have a WSDMG10% GK i could probably turn into a TP+100 GK if i had to, have THF DNC PLD DRG as jobs i don't/won't have empy for and still might need a decent WS

Well, Apex Arrow, Last Stand, Exenterator, Blade: Shun, Tachi: Shoha, Resolution, Upheaval and Stardiver are all pretty good.

Shijin is great outside of aby as well. It's already on par with stringing pummel for me at 3/5, and my setup for it could use a lot of work. For non-vere mnk the leap should be greater, since their ws are worse than pummel.

I can't speak for how it compares to hi, or against high def VW targets, but on ep mobs for ele trials, limbus, etc., 5/5 shun stomps all over jin for me. On targets jin might be doing around ~1.5k on, shun is doing like ~2.3 k. I'm missing key dex pieces like haidate and ocel. headpiece as well.

EDIT: Is there any compiled, up to date info on automaton spell lists/priorities? And is the auto even capable of downranking cures if it isn't low on mp? Mine uses cure v (not skilled to vi yet), even if I'm only missing ~150 hp.

If by "substantial testing", you mean "got SCH to 99", then yes I have with Atum. Anything that you need me to do?

Nothing much really. I was just in the middle of testing and I realized someone else might have already done it. SE had a big section on Scholar in the last update, and I hadn't seen any recent testing of it I think.

Soil Gorget and Belt should work for Stardiver, yeah? For some reason it's parsing below Drakesbane on these qilins I'm doing right now.
