...seriously? Good lord the game really has changed.
Which I'm totally okay with, because fuck Black Triple Stars.
I'm curious to know why though. I figure it has something to do with new maximum level and new weaponskills and not even being remotely close to hitting caps on anything anymore and, uh, everything...
Well, I guess that was pretty general, and it would depend more on what job you are asking for. By far the STR katana and dagger are the best through Trial of the Magians, other then their Empyrean counterparts. I can't speak for PLD, but I would guess the PDT sword would be a good alternative if you aren't looking to do Almace. As for WAR, nothing really compares to a Ukonvasara, but maybe the WoE version?
The reason OaT weapons aren't good for single wielders is most single wielders can get a bunch of DA, (20% easily, if you sub war. (10 trait, 5 brutal 3 atheling 2 twilight) which dilutes the value of OaT since the two don't stack, and the OaT doesn't help your main hand any, unlike DA.
Say you DW with 20% DA. Wit an offhand OaT your offhand has .2*2+(.8*.45*2+.8*.55*1)=1.56 attacks/round, for a total of 2.76 attacks/round.
If you offhand a 10% DA sword, you get 2.6 attacks/round, so only a 6% loss in swings/round, but you're picking up a better DPS weapon, as well as 10% DA on WS, which more than makes up for the 6% loss.
Just got
Murasamemaru last night and the delay is awful for x-hit builds. Anyone know how much store tp i need to 6hit that atleast? 5/5 store tp merits for now. Was thinking of this set,
http://www.ffxiah.com/members/item-sets?id=244452
I never expected to take sam past 90, so i have just thrown this together from what i already had. Is this over kill or do i need more store tp? Or what would even be a ideal set for this gtk? Thanks
I know DA and OAT don't stack but for something like DRG would it help to macro in DA/TA/QA gear into my Jump macro to increase the chances of getting a multi hit Jump? Like if OAT weapons are 40% and I have 20% DA what is the chance that my Spirit Jump would be a 2-hitter, not sure how OAT and DA compound...
21 to 6, 53 to 5
http://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/244452 - Fixed your set link.
You'd need 61 total Store TP to 6-hit. Trivial with 5/5 merits. 93 total Store TP to 5-hit; still doable, but might not be worth it.
Edit: Gah, beaten.
The bow of light CS was amazing. I never did the quests but I watched all the cutscenes on youtube in HD. Windy's cutscenes are amazing, followed by San'Doria's. But damn Fenrir messing shit up and the shinku hadouken coming out of the Bow Of Light was amazing.
I did all three and enjoyed them all. My bias will show when I say that I liked Bastok's storyline the best, but I think that the "Darksteel Hurricane" story was fairly gripping.
But really, I doubt that they will ever be able to make a cutscene to out-awesome Fenrir being summoned. They took a legendary moment in FFXI history and put it on the screen, and it is every bit as awesome as you would imagine it to be.
Alright, thanks guys. Looks like I'll finish up Sandy for now and do the Bastok and save the best for last, Windy
Edit:
Rangelise is a fucking boss and holy shit, I actually killed something in a CS. Usually every one ends up w/ me on the floor.
Possibly an even bigger factor is the delay. All/most of those path types for one-handers have horrendous delay that really hurts whatever boost to TP rate you were hoping for. 2-handers can take advantage of that through making an x-hit easier to hit, but for one-handers it mostly just puts you in a less desirable point in the TP-Delay curve and cuts down on ODD procs.
Whats the spellcast shorthand for Waltz? For example, Cure IV is //c4.
I'm no BLU but I'm debating with one, so I may be completely wrong:
I say Charged Whisker
Lion/Ultimate/Horn
He says Ult/Horn/RR
Which is better please?
