Can anyone show me a decent Jishnu's Radiance build?
Not up to date on RNG at all, last I played RNG was back in the old days, but recerntly have been interested in taking up RNG again.

I personally brew it...it casts spells at what seems to be a 25 second timer, and if you let one spell get through and it nukes itself, its pretty much game over. Its doable, I've seen it done, plenty of times, but the risk of a wipe is really high.
The fight itself I dont think it really that difficult. Tank from the ass, find some way to keep whm/blm stun recast as low as possible (might even want to have rdm/blm, cuz whm stun can get resisted), and just chip away at it.
That's one thing I don't understand. I've fought it like a couple dozen times and we never even bothered with stuns and there never was a problem... so I guess I don't understand how bad he can be I guess. Just how bad is it?
I've been thinking about this some more, and did some analysis on odds of number of attack rounds necessary to WS. Also included is Kokushitsunotachi OA2-4.
Assuming:
* Double Attack procs prior to Zanshin, which procs prior to OAT check.
* 10% Double Attack
* 12% Hasso Zanshin
* 0.306634125 : 0.244286665 : 0.205236299 : 0.214333259 : 0.029509652 hit distribution on Quint Spear.
* 4 : 3 : 2 : 1 hit distribution on Kokushitsunotachi. (is this right, I think I've asked about the hit distribution on OA2-4 Magians, and can't remember if I ever got confirmation)
Given all this, the following is the odds of how many attack rounds it will take to have 100 TP after a WS.
Quint Spear
For Six Hit Build / 5 After WS
1 Round 02.3371644%
2 Rounds 55.7572237%
3 Rounds 35.2807152%
4 Rounds 06.2770541%
5 Rounds 00.3478425%
For Five Hit Build / 4 After WS
1 Round 19.3123586%
2 Rounds 60.5354932%
3 Rounds 18.7198384%
4 Rounds 01.43230995%
Kokushitsunotachi OA2-4
For Five Hit Build / 4 After WS
1 Round 07.92%
2 Rounds 60.65344%
3 Rounds 28.2470842%
4 Rounds 03.1794758%
You're right that five hitting a Quint Spear is a giant pain in the ass. If I recall correctly, if you want to use a Sword Strap and still maintain capped gear haste, it's only possible with /drg.
If you want to use /war, it's not that much easier to five hit even without using a Sword Strap and still maintain capped gear Haste.
That being said, there is a big difference between six hitting and five hitting a Quint Spear. Being able to WS one round after Namas Arrow nearly 20% of the time is definitely impressive. The six hit build also needs 3 rounds or more approximately 42% of the time. The five hit build only needs 3 or more rounds only about 20% of the time. That's a fair improvement in my mind.
If you want to five hit with /drg and Sword Strap, you can WS in Unkai Haidate +2, Unkai Nodowa, Rajas Ring and Goading Belt (... ick) for 23.7 TP. You'd need 19.1 TP per hit at that point, so 93 Store TP total. 40 from traits and merits, Unkai +2 Head, Body, Legs, Nodowa, Mimikazari, Wyvern Earring, Rajas, Tyrant Ring, Tactical Mantle, Goading Belt, Usukane Sune-Ate and Dusk Gloves +1 will manage it, while maintaining 26 Haste.
Whether everything else you'd give up to accomplish this I'm not entirely sure yet.
Interesting to note, even with a much worse hit distribution than Quint Spear, Kokushitsunotachi is generally better at getting to 100 TP than a six hit Quint Spear (based on attack rounds only). And it's not even very hard to five hit a Kokushitsunotachi with Sword Strap. However, doing out the math, on average the six hit Quint Spear will still beat a five hit Kokushitsunotachi because of the delay.
So the only reason to use a Kokushitsunotachi would be massive accuracy issues.
This all being said, none of it applies if you have Miser's Roll, or are doing Voidwatch with Store TP atmacite.
I've heard of people two boxing him at 90. Provided you have a solid stun build (I'd imagine a thunder accuracy magian stick with the very nice -12% recast would be crazy useful) on your WHM, I don't imagine it'd be too difficult at 95. But no firsthand experience, so meh.
Mine:
Oneiros Knife / Legion Scutum / Gandiva / Ammo
Anwig Salade / Rancor Collar / Moonshade Earring / DEX+3 Earring
Loki's Kaftan / Hachiryu Kote / Thundersoul Ring / Rajas Ring
Terebellum Mantle / Light Belt / Byakko's Haidate / Hunter's Socks +1
Can swap the shield out for an augmented Yataghan if /NIN. If you feel on /SAM it's necessary to Seigan + Third Eye, can do Vulcan Staff + Brave Grip.
Salade is augmented with WS Dmg / Crit Dmg +2%, Aias is good too. Moonshade has Ranged Atk+4 TP Bonus +25, another DEX earring is good too
Byakko's Haidate is augmented with Crit Dmg+. Unsure how the new Ocelomeh gear performs vs Loki's and Anwig/Aias ;/
Augmented Seiryu's Kote and AF1+1 are both good alternatives for the hands. AF3+2 hands will win if fSTR2 is uncapped though if you also don't need the accuracy from Seiryu's. Use Amemet +1 over Terebellum if fSTR2 is uncapped too. Lithe Boots are also just as good as Hunter's Socks. Dunno if mines exactly perfect but hope it helps!
That's what I suppose I'm asking. Never really paid attention to tp moves really but nothing hurt me enough to really care. Just how bad is it? Actually now that I think about it I can't remember it nuking itself. Which probably means it just didn't most the time. Was that just me being rather lucky for once?
Though a must admit a couple of my fights were unfair since there was 2 vere mnks that kinda took it down too fast to do much lol
Stupid question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I cant find anything really stating otherwise...using Twilight Knife in either main or sub causes Haste Samba unusable, right?
allright, thanks (incase anyone wondering why I'm using twilight...dnc mule for dyna procs)
I apologize, because this question gets asked about 3 times a week in this very thread, but dammed if I can find it now that I want to know.
Group1 and Group2 BLU merits? Will essentially be used to whisker cleave and *maybe* abyssea proc and nothing else.
good place in Abyssea - Konschtat for solo cleave on war?
T1 : Physical & Magical Potency @ 5.
T2 : Assimilation & Enchaintment @ 5.
Spells needed for CW :
Charged Whisker
Occulation
Magic Fruit
Dream Flower
Whirl Of Rage (AOE Stun)
Enervation (Magic Defense Down)
Memento Mori (MAB+)
You don't have to use that last 2, but it helps. Also sub /rdm and put up Phalanx & Aquaveil. If you have W.Legs, it'll make things much easier.
If you're using a Warrior to Cleave, only mob that you can do without getting ruby are Trotting Sapling. If you're bringing a Blu however can do Highland Treant, Morboling or Mesa Wivre.good place in Abyssea - Konschtat for solo cleave on war?
Are Sphere effects count towards gear or magic caps? Guessing gear?
Iirc, Arthars dualboxed his horns WHM/BLM + NIN/WAR before they fixed the horn drop rate.
Tribox with a blm as well. Iirc it was blm/thf whm nin.
Best and fastest way to lv blm elemental magic from lv 30 to cap when lved from aby?
