Ok so I just logged out and started POL back up and it's doing this update setup bs and registration comfirmation. Everytime I add something it just throws me back to do it again... how they hell do I log on?

Well, that's very Interesting~

My previous test up there, used gallant leggings +1. It's in my XML, so it always uses them for Holy circle. Didn't really think about it. So I tested without them.

Atonement. 300% TP, High enmity, Holy circle, without Gallant feet. 862
And another, same mob seconds later, 140%~ TP(just to make sure I had hate capped.) 862

750*1.15=862.5 Floored=862
So there's that +15% I remembered...

So, Gallant Leggings +1 Add +2% to the holy circle damage bonus.

Should test if the NQ also have this effect. But I don't have them anymore.

It also makes me wonder if other circle enhancing gear does this. Drachen Brais and Ancient circle, etc.

Also to go onto my last question how do you find out your Playonline ID number. Since it just erased all the accounts on my viewer and a few weeks ago I lost what I wrote it down on I don't have it. I bought that one from amazon but all it will tell me is the activation key since I don't think I even had a playonline number yet.

I think that you can find your PlayOnline ID if you log into Square-Enix account membership. (I think it will show up even if you just have accounts linked for Mog Sack.)

I'm trying to skill up synergy using the Behemoth Knife method.

Is it normal for the furnace to blow up constantly? Releasing pressure seems to do nothing...

The explosions are a result of the wind power becoming overloaded...

Synergy explosions are mostly triggered by high impurity levels. Pressure affects the dmg dealt by explosions(both to the player and the furnace, I think) And maybe the chances of leaks.

The amount the impurity lvl rises with each fewel feeding is based on your synergy lvl vs the lvl of the synth. With a minimum of +5 impurity per feed. Not sure what the max is, but a lvl 1 synergist can make a high lvl synth try to explode every feed. lol. So as your skill rises vs the synth, you can feed more before it tries to explode. Explosions usually occur from 40%~ but can happen at lower %'s at a lower frequency.

So you can prevent explosions by keeping the impurity lvls down, but that uses hella amounts of dark fewel.

For skilling up, I recommend getting a pair fisherman's cuffs(hidden effect, grants the precision thwack command. Greater chance to stun, and deals less dmg to the furnace.) and trying to stun explosions. You can get skillups on successful stuns as well, so there's more skill up chances per the same amount of fewel.

The nugget synths are nice if you can haste yourself because the slow added effect from the explosion will not overwrite and therefore not slow you down much. Gold nugget, platinum nugget, etc. But ya Martel hit the nail on the head, spam, spam, spam, attempt to precision thwack, spam, spam spam. repeat over and over.

As far as spamming goes, is it just a waste of Fewell to go over the required amount? Sometimes 40 wind (which is all that is needed), then I have nothing better to do with my remaining furnace time... sometimes I feed ice fewell to lower wind below 40 again, but it doesn't seem to help much...

Can get skill ups at 99 elemental strength, as long as the element is one of the required ones for the synth. If it's not listed, you can't skill at all.

The JP wiki has an article about "Foods for Artiasns", one of the official FFXI books in Japan states that the three types of Macarons increase synthesis skill ups and reduce the rate of failures. The rusks (Sugar, Chocolate, and Coconut) improve HQ rate and reduce the chance of losing items from breaks according to that book as well. Sadly, this will always be second-hand information, because we NAs are unworthy and do not deserve information.

I've used kitron macaron extensively to bridge previously unusable skill up range gaps, but as for macarons increasing skill up I'm not buying that. Get a scan of the book and Edmer to translate it!

He could not find a copy of the particular book in the stores near him, but he did provide me with the original JP Wiki link. (And it is not working for me either.) He did translate much of the page for me, and told me about a few tests that were done by anonymous posters on JP boards. The tests indicated that the failure rate would drop to 0.5%-2% on crafts with no sub skills.

If someone could find a scan of the book, we could ask Elmer to scan it, but I am not sure where one could find it.

A few of my friends are trying to go do Taurassic Park, however, we've entered all 4 entraces of bearclaw pinnacle to attempt this and none work. is this thing shut down due to the fact of no chests droppping still? or can anyone shed some light on which entrance we should be going to?`

Just to clarify I whole heartedly believe kitron increase your success rate, it's obvious from using them lol, they're a godsend. As for a skill up food that's a whole different story....

Like I said, the claims of it being a skill up food are from the book FFXI Dengeki no Ryodan-hen Vana'diel Official World Guide 2010 Vol. 2 (2010/10, ISBN-10: 4048701029), and that is where they made it to the JP Wiki. I have used them while skilling up and they seem to have an effect, but the placebo effect is very strong and skill ups are fantastically random, so it is hard to be able to say if they work or not for sure.

If someone could get a hold of a copy of the book and get a copy of the proper pages so that they can be translated, it would be helpful. Or maybe we could get Camate to confirm or deny it.
