He's absurdly easy with an Ochain PLD and some kind of healer job. Not sure if he can be soloed.
Maybe by an evasion job that can self heal. DNC, or NIN/DNC maybe? Subtle blow build to reduce cytokinesis and dissolve use, maybe.
But yeah, Ochain PLD duo(or dualbox) is easy.
Ochain PLD solo would be iffy. The adds additional effects can fuck you up pretty bad. Silence, para, amnesia, etc. Then when you try to use echos or remedies, those get para'd... Sure, they don't hit for much with ochain. When you get low on HP cause of all the the statuses on you keeping you form curing, Dissolve would probly drop you. Maybe if you got lucky and managed that puddle trick where the adds don't agro. But that's just not reliable. Or maybe go /DNC and try to stun cyto, but I'm not sure how well that'd work.
I finished all 10 of mine with me on THF and my wife on WHM. Overall it went smooth with only one fight giving us any trouble. I just AE'd the adds with some half-assed MAB build and kept chipping away at Blobdingnag when they were dead. Usually I could get in one or two more WS's between Cytokenisis.
I will say though: bring some form of TH. I got to 9/10, killed my 6th Blob and he dropped 0 baby's. I was disappoint lol.
@Martel: Small sample size is small, but I did try to stun Cyto with NIN/dnc... never had it actually stun him. Not sure if I was just unlucky or if he flat out resists/is immune to it, but ya. Would not rely on /dnc stun to avoid baby blobs ;x.
Unless it literally deals severe (very high) damage on mobs that you wouldn't be able to Death (a la Zantetzukin), that actually sounds incredibly underwhelming.
So, Cornette's Minuet +1 adds 5 attack, right?
Because BRD Body +2's Minuet +1 adds 1 attack. <_<; SE does not get points for consistency.
Edit: Nope, on the test server at least all Minuet +1 only adds 1 Attack.
Minuet +1 : +1 Attack
Minuet +2 : +5 Attack
... idk!
Nevermind, I tested it and put it up.
I wouldn't waste an abyssite trying. It hits for 200-300 DMG in evasion gear, Dissolve deals >800 DMG, and the little blobs have additional effects like silence and amnesia on their melee attacks. It also uses a weaponskill that sticks a pretty potent slow on you, so you'll spend a lot of the fight dealing with that.
You definitely want to bring Treasure Hunter as well. I went 0 2 2 2 0 0 0 1 1 1 1.
Putting this here to warn people off doing it as BLM. They took somewhere between 25-50% magic damage. I had to sleep the first and rest for MP after three or four tier V spells didn't finish it. Linked everything on the second pull; sleepga landed on most things but the paladins (Galka) resisted. Sleepga II landed but I had to deal with things waking up early. All in all not a lot of fun.
The translation of the JP Wiki page that Elmer did for me made no mention of it, but it is possible that it was in the original source book.
But I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that they would do such a thing. Could someone please pester Camate about the macarons and rusks for me? I wonder if there is anything with which we could bribe him for info...
Doesn't sound right, I was able to solo that zone at 75 by nuking on RDM. Shouldn't have any problems on BLM since they have access to refresh and convert now.
Yeah we used to duo blm that zone every time and never lost several years ago. And we never went for any TEs unless we got the wrong fomor the first time. Just nuked hard and fast to the top. Sleeps worked welll even at 75 for a decently geared blm except of course on the pld ones since they have the whole resist sleep trait.
So excalibur... the additional dmg. How much is it now and about how often does it proc? Also does enlight and/or sambas overwrite it or are they overwritten by it or neither?
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Excalibur
Not sure on rate. Enlight should overwrite the effect.
Has anyone else not been able to access the discussions section of FFXICyclopedia?
Well yeah was kinda wondering if higher versions might do more... wonder if it's better to have enlight up or down then... or if just using a club would be better now lol
Hm. I ran in as soon as the zone loaded and I didn't see any buffs, but I did dispel the first tarutaru I pulled (no effect). I only fought the tarutaru, so it wasn't a matter of MDB. I can sort through logs, but Fire V was close to 550 DMG.
I rested instead of converting to avoid HP aggro when I went to pull the second. Curing up would have worked, too.
Anyway, everyone else seems to have had a pretty easy time with it, so disregard my warning.
It's also possible that it was not in the original source book...Why not just end your sentence with "The translation of the JP wiki page that Elmer did for me made no mention of it." Do you notice how everyone ignores my replies but latches onto the unproven theory of a previous JP wiki post? People want to believe!
This is how terrible theory craft gets started and then spreads like wildfire to those who want to believe.
Septimus to Shen on BG > It may have been in the original source book
Shen to friend > Septimus said rusks might have the effect like I said
friend to other lsmate > did you hear? Shen was right about rusks!
lsmates > rah rah rah more crafting voodoo proven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know, panties in a bunch, imad, etc.
