How do you calculate magic based WS such as Primal Rend? I tried to follow the formula on wiki and got 4506 damage on Primal Rend with this set.
I did assume capped fINT, which would be 32, yeah?
While on the subject of BST, best merit choice still 5/5 Reward Recast, Call Beast Recast, Beast Affinity, and Beast Healer?
I have no idea how you're getting 4506.
Formula is (Damage = (( Lv+2+WSC ) * fTP + fINT )*MAB ) level =95, I have no idea what your base CHR is, but I'm going to assume 100, so 169 after gear. Primal Rend is 30% CHR, so WSC is 43 (169*.3*.85). fTP is 4.0. , that gives the first term as 560. If you assume capped fINT that gives 592*MAB, you've got 12 MAB so that's 1.12*592 or 663. If you're /RDM or /BLM that gives 24 more MAB for a total of 805.
With day and double weather and /rdm/blm you'd get a max of 1086.
Oh, I see what I did, lol. I added fINT with fTP before I multiplied. Thank you.
Where did you get the .85 though? I used .83 for level 75. Do you have the alpha values for 76+ somewhere?
Alpha was 0.85 at 90; I haven't seen any tests for alpha at 95 though.
Yes.
Okay, thanks a lot.
Indeed? I know I've asked about the proc priority of Hasso Zanshin before and never gotten a response. Care to share where this information comes from?
In your blind haste to declare my assumption wrong, it doesn't seem to have occurred to you that it really only helps the case for the five hit. A five hit build will always have a significant edge over a six hit build on Quint Spear simply because every time it procs the quadruple swing (which on a Quint Spear is roughly a fifth of the time), you get to WS in one round. Where as you have to proc a OA5 to accomplish the same on a six hit build and that occurs only 3% of the time. Hasso Zanshin proc'ing after OA check only increases the odds of a quadruple swing occurring (which is really the money shot for five hit).
Regardless, considering Zanshin is not something you can reasonably stack on a Quint Spear build, the significance is pretty pathetic whether it procs before or after.
The more important question, though, has never been how much better five hit is than six hit, but whether it's worth going for or not.
If you break it down all the way, it really comes out to this:
* If you have a bard, I'd imagine it always makes sense to aim for the five hit. Sword Strap becomes pointless with Marches, and the Store TP necessary to reach the proper hit build with Rose Strap becomes manageable with capped Haste regardless of whether you're on /war or /drg
* If you do not have a bard, it becomes a question of
- 6-hit /war on a 384 delay Quint Spear versus
- 5-hit /war on a 396 delay Quint Spear versus
- 5-hit /drg on a 384 delay Quint Spear.
As a straight guess though, I'd imagine 5-hitting a Rose Strap is always gonna be better than 6-hitting a Sword Strap. Suppose it's something to puzzle over when I have more time.
Is this just an inside-abyssea set? Seems very WSC-heavy, very Str/Ratk/Racc light. It certainly wouldn't do you anygood on higher tier VW fights due to low Racc, that's for sure. I'd think AF3+2 hands/legs and AF2/+1 feet would be better options outside abyssea. AF3+2 head and bellona's possibly as well.
How many time/runs it takes to farm 30 coin of advacement with 4 players? I only tryed walk of echoes once ( crab T1 )
We did'nt got any coins with party setup ( blm whm monk thf ). Which job setup is the best for this?
Which conflux you suggest to farm at? Any info would help thx!
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but does anyone knows a torrent for a complete FFXI package (Installation + Zilart + COP + ToAU + WoTG) EU version?? I've been looking around for one but haven't found anything working so far ~
generally, how much int is equivalent to 1 mdb?
There is no real general equivalent. MDB will always lower dmg by a certain percentage based on how much MDB you have. int... well that will depend on many things to do with mob stats and specifically stats behind that particular spell/tp move. And as far as I know people haven't really even tried back tracing magical tp moves. It would be like trying to define a mab to stat equivalent for all PC spells and ws and all situations. It varies greatly between the moves and even decently depending on the stats of the user. Long story short stick to MDB if only because it is a known quantity and for all we know int does next to nothing
Can't even compare this, it's "how many seats are equal to 1 horsepower?" when shopping for a car.

It'll vary depending on mob and nuke, likely the mdb will be better.
Merits for RDM? Going to have to assume at least one on Blind II for VWNM, but what else after that?
There is this cool subforum here about math that not many ppl visit it seems :/
